Adam is perfect with his quick and accurate evaluations of the rare manuscript that I had found. He was extremely generous with his offer, and the sale was as easy as it gets. I really feel that you will be very happy if you have the chance to do business with him... he has inspired me to find more books for him to review. --happy hunting--
I had the pleasure of working with Adam when I had some maritime books I wanted to sell. I found him to be helpful, professional and trustworthy. He responded quickly to my inquiries and the long distance transaction was seamless. He advised me to ship via FedEx and he paid for both the packing and shipping. My payment arrived promptly in my checking account. I would give him six stars if I could! Thank you, Adam!
What a truly wonderful experience dealing with Adam of Rare Book Buyers. If i could give 10 stars I would. I appreciated dealing with someone that responded immediately to all of my inquiries. Adam was honest and upfront about the value of the Lincoln autograph book I wanted to sell. Even though I live in Chicago, the transactions were flawless. I give the highest recommendation to Adam and his company Rare Book Buyers.
I recently had my rare children's Bible evaluated by Adam of rare book buyer. I am extremely thankful I dealt with Adam as he will be the only person I will ever send a book to sell/ evaluate. Adam is a wealth of knowledge professional, and a pleasure to deal with. If you have any books that you are looking to sell I would not hesitate to call Adam. You will be beyond pleased with your experience.
I am a well established NYC antiques dealer and I often run into old and rare books, manuscripts, and documents that are not in my direct line of business. I have often consulted Adam's expertise and have found him to be very accurate in his evaluations, extraordinarily fair in his offers and generous with his advice. He ranks among the best dealers in terms of responsiveness, courtesy and trustworthiness.
I feel fortunate that a friend recommended RBB to me. Adam was so nice. He replied quickly and never made me feel like I was bothering him. Even though I didn't have such wonderful books for him he was patient and explained about them to me and even paid the shipping of the ones he was interested in. He seems to be very knowledgable and honest, something you don't see so often anymore. I feel that Adam was more than fair to me.and I would highly recommend doing business with him. If I come across old books in the future, it will be my pleasure contact him again.
I had a wonderful experience working with Adam. He was respectful, patient with my questions, and most important, he gained my trust immediately. He also got me a good price for my book. I would work with him again in a heartbeat!
I recently sold an older book to Rare Book Buyer long-distance, and couldn't have been happier with the entire process. Adam was very quick and thorough in his responses, and I felt an open honesty that is a bit rare these days. I shipped the book off to him insured with signature confirmation, he was prompt to let me know he had received it and looked it over, and equally prompt to mail me a check for the agreed-upon amount. I would have been a bit leery of sending a valuable book off across the country this way if Adam had not shown himself to be so open and trust-worthy. He continues to keep me informed about the book as he researches its history more, which is very nice too. I can't recommend him enough if you are thinking of selling a rare book!
I offered a 1613 She Bible to RareBookBuyer. Adam appraised the book and after receiving an additional offer and an evaluation from an auction house, I accepted his offer which was the highest by at least 20%. Also, 2 months later and the reason I am writing this review, he sent me photos to show me how beautifully the binding had been restored. He is a bookseller and preservationist and really cares about the books that pass through his hands. Highly recommended!
I offered Rare Book Buyer a Hebrew Bible printed in America- evidently the first one printed in 1815. I actually walked it over as I live quite close and he checked it thoroughly. Adam, the owner, evaluated it and made me an offer. Truth be told, I did not accept the offer and instead put it into auction- sort of hoping for a home run especially after he got me so excited about it. While it did reasonably well at auction, his offer was right on the money and he clearly knows his stuff. He gave me a great deal of information about the book that I truly appreciated and even himself suggested a auction as another route instead of a private sale. Given the time it took to be paid by the auction house, with hindsight, it would have been just as smart to accept his offer from the start. I appreciate his honesty and professionalism.
