Spontaneously went here for the first time and it was amazing! Walked in with no appointment, it smelled great, was very clean, stylish and had basically a 5 minute wait. Ray cut my hair, who was very professional, quick and considerate! It was like he knew my hair for years, with the amount of speed and precision he had while doing my fade. I recently moved to the city and went on here on a whim after seeing all the great reviews. Needless to say, Valerie who cut my hair at this location was incredibly professional, quick, but also took her time to make sure everything laid the way it should and made the refinement trims that make all the difference in a good haircut. 100% worth the price and 100% will be going back! I am a regular. Very classy place: fantastic atmosphere, stylish interiors with good pleasant light. The people are caring, friendly and highly professional I deal with Ray himself and his colleague Dina. They do great haircuts, using premium products. The pricing is within the market. Yesterday was my first visit to Ray's. I did not have an appointment, but Mark greeted me at the door and escorted me promptly to his chair. I am very pleased with my haircut and feel that Mark did an excellent job. I used to patronize a "fancy" barber in Brookfield Place, but I will be going to Ray's from now on. Favorite barber shop in the city! I've been going for about 3 years and gotten a cut from almost every barber. They're all super friendly and experienced and I get a fresh and consistent cut every time I have asian male hair. They're also very efficient and you don't have to wait too long even if there is a line. The owner Ray and several of the most experienced barbers are also there every single day - true dedication to the craft!Services: Scissor cut
Been coming to Ray's for a few months now, and am very pleased with the service. Mark is my barber, and he's top notch. He's always laser focused when he's working on my hair, which is what I prefer. For comparison, I once had a barber snip a part of my ear with his scissors while angrily talking about his ex-wife. I never have to worry about being butchered by Mark. Best Barbershop in Manhattan, period!!! No appointments needed either, just walk in and the place is super clean. Everyone is friendly and extremely talented. Ask for Ray, he’s fast and gave me probably the best cut ever. This will be my new go-to barbershop.
My husband has been going to Ray's for his haircuts since his father used to take him as a little boy to Ray's old location in the city, and he will continue to do so until this barbershop stays open. Lovely and calm atmosphere inside in the middle of the bustling city, and the staff is always very welcoming and knows exactly the style to make you look brand new. Highly recommend this barbershop.
I'm in the city only occasionally for in-office work, and I was looking for a barber shop open early enough and walking distance to my office downtown so I could go before work. Additional background is that I had been cutting my own hair with electric clippers for the prior 2.5 years, and things were getting weird. No comments on the bizarre butchery I had done to myself. Ray's shop was clean and pleasant, and my barber Mark was professional and did a nice job cutting my hair.Service: Haircut
