I called in to get a break in pricing for my bundle service and got Elizabeth Ramos. She is very helpful, professional and knowledgeable of her work. She got me some savings. I’ll been a loyal customer of RCN and will continue to be their customer.
We had our new internet installed today and our technician was absolutely wonderful. He was great to interact with and at the same time quickly addressing all our questions and making sure the product was installed correctly and worked for us before leaving. It was short, sweet, and simple and was honestly a great start to our morning! Thank you RCN!
Just changed service to RCN Gig Internet deal which is $35/Month with $200 gift card and 2 months of free service. Installation was very smooth and fast and I was online in 30 minutes. Great deal, great customer service and great internet speed.
STAY AWAY. I had RCN from late 2018 to 9/19. The service was fine. I cancelled because I needed to move apartments and my next apartment was not covered by RCN. I returned by router at least a few days before my next billing cycle. I received a paper receipt confirmation. Five months later, unbeknownst to me, the account had gone to collections over $66 bill because they were charging me for the following month of service, after I already returned the router. I explained the situation and luckily still had the receipt with me to prove my point. They said the derogatory account would be removed from the system and that they had to finish the dispute process but it would be resolved. It was removed from my credit report. Two days ago the derogatory account reappears on my credit report and they tell me I still owe the $66. I no longer have the receipt. I had to pay a bill I did not owe. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.
Very bad experience with Customer Service on the phone. We requested to cancel the service when we moved out but somehow they didn't put that in the system. When the equipment had been received, they still didn't put in the termination request. Only after I called to clarify on billing did they finally receive this cancellation request. But, they refused to backdate the adjustment to the original request date even though it's their mistake and insisted that we pay for service until the current day. It's absurd and the lack of common sense by the customer service team makes me want to stay away from RCN in the future. Very unprofessional and unhelpful customer service team! Update: Thanks to Jackie from RCN who reached out to review my account and offered a satisfatory resolution. Hope their Customer Service team is better at addressing this kind of issue in the future.
The person who came the first time to repair our telephone and computer seemed to have succeeded. But two days after he was at our apartment both the telephone and the computer stopped working. A second one of your specialists came and he repaired both -- the telephone and the computer are now in good shape again. I did not respond sooner to your request for a report on the work on our telephone and computer because I wanted to be sure that both are working properly. I started RCN with 46$. After 6 months, they start to change the prices up and up.I need to call for it they said "It is a promotion plan". Right now I am almost 2 years with RCN the internet price for RCN is 69$ with modem. How can monthly 46$ plan goes up to 68$. That's a 50% increase. You need to call to keep your bill down. But they will increase your rates without calling you. I didn't ask for any upgrade and they keep increasing rates. You will see sooner or later. That's my review. 2 years loyalty for this. : I am disconnecting the service. I don't want lower rates in the future but reimbursement for what I have overpaid in the last 2 years. Only then I would recommend RCN to anyone.
The first tech they sent was no good he said it was not possible or too hard to install, but the 2nd Tech got the job done fast and the work was very clean. He was very professional. Tech info: F.B #33831 He should get a raise he made the impossible possible!
