Yes there have been some changes at the Regency. They have been much needed changes. My mother has been a resident there for over a year. She has had a difficult time with a health issue and I can not say enough about Scott Sutton the director. He took time to come to the hospital to check on my mother. He did not have to. He has spent time on the phone with me helping me figure out what the best treatment was for her. He has been supportive of her and helping to get her back to the Regency. I can not thank him enough for the care and advice that he has provided for me and my mother.
There are four important areas where the Regency is seriously deficient. First, is cleanliness. My wife's bathroom floor was not scrubbed in over 3 weeks Second, is patient care. The CNAs would not respond to the help bell for hours. Third, is a $2000 refund due to us. Our occupancy agreement was terminated by us the tenantwith proper notice and the final months rent was to be prorated and refunded. We are approaching 6 months waiting for our check and the local office has offered a none operable phone number in Texas and has done nothing to assist us in getting our money back. Finally, there is a problem of severe understaffing. We have since found a wonderful place for my Wife and would recommend all to stay away from the Regency.
I can't say enough good things about the Regency. They have cared for my mother like they would their own. I came in stressed out and unsure and the girls who toured me were thorough and went above and beyond making me feel comfortable. They loved on me and my mom and immediately put us at ease. Everyone we met, from housekeepers, to laundry personnel to kitchen staff and the nursing staff.... I can't say enough positive things about them! The transition was difficult for a few days, but they surrounded us and eased it and I would without hesitation recommend this community to any and all.
The staff that helped us get moved in was excellent! Stephanie and Cassie, great job! But since my father's move-in, it has been one problem after another with very little help from upper management as mentioned in someone else's review. My father has lived in four different 'assisted living' facilities over the years. This one is just as expensive as the most expensive one that he has lived in. BUT the services are not nearly as good. He calls me constantly for things that his last facility handled for him. Little things like simple maintenance on his wheel chair. They say that they accept pets. My father has a cat. But he has to leave it locked in the bathroom and can only visit with the cat for a few minutes when his cat sitter visits. His cat was able to roam the room in his last facility. As we were moving in, I mentioned a couple of medical concerns. I didn't get any reply from 'nursing' so over time and two more inquiries, I finally sent an email to everyone. I got a quick reply from 'nursing' that gave me the impression that I was bothering them. The reply was clear to me that they skimmed my email and didn't read it fully. I'm not even covering two or three of worst things that have happened since he has been there and it's only been a couple of months. My father accidentally calls me several times a week by hitting redial. He has Regency on redial usually because daily he waits so long to "be changed" and calls the main desk to ask for help when it gets uncomfortable. Regency is nicely decorated but dark and gloomy upstairs. My father says the food is 'okay', so its probably good.
Where do I begin? The Regency is desperately understaffed, management is just horrific and continuing to decline! If it can any worse. Unless they get on board, they honestly need to be shut down . I have a huge list of problems that we have with them on a daily basis, and one more will be the straw that broke the camel’s back! The only reason that my family member is still there is that we keep giving them second chances because it is going to be hard to move, but is most likely inevitable. The regional manager from Texas came in and stayed several months until things improved. Since he left, I believe it is worse than before! I don’t think the new administrator knows how to do his job at all! They need to bring Dan, the regional manager, back in again ASAP!
Timothy Scott Sutton the administrator and DON abandoned his facility the last weekend of April to go the beach with his family. The facility was so understaffed for months he did the bare minimum to help. He constantly threatened to fire employees if they didn’t stay past their scheduled shift. The last weekend of April on Saturday the 28th Scott never answered my call he never called me to see how I was holding up, how many workers was in the building or if the residents was ok. When I arrived the 3rd shift med tech left all the med cart keys with the receptionist. I was the only med tech that showed up for assisted living. There wasn’t even a med tech to receive a report from. There was no way I was being responsible for 5 carts of medication and 3 floors of residents with no nurse to contact, no nurse in the whole building. It was unsafe to take care of a whole building. There was no way I was taking 5 carts without counting with someone especially 3 of the carts I barley worked on.The receptionist tried to call the lpns and other caregivers and med techs. Either no answer or nobody wanted to come in to work. Jennie from marketing was suppose to be in charge but she never came to the facility in the morning she told the receptionist she was at the gym then later on she was riding her motorcycle cycle. I didn’t know what else to do so I got DSS involved. A monitor came and took my report questioned a few residents. Jennie tried to convince me to pass the meds out for the second floor at the end of my shift but I still did not accept because there was nobody to count the medicine with, there was only 1 med tech that I knew was coming in to relieve me and it was way past the time to even given medicine. That was my last day I quit because of unsafe conditions. Now Scott Sutton is blaming me for neglect and I’m under pending investigation! I will fight this until I am heard my name is clear he’s trying to put all the blame on me. I was even told no employees showed up for Sunday 1st shift and no residents got medicine. Just as well as Regency has bed bugs and he keeps lying saying the do not
I use work here until management got out of control... All i wanted was my residents be treated great as if they were my 81 yr old mother.... I miss my residents but not the staff
Terrible upper management
