Regional West Physicians Clinic-Pediatrics

Our child was born last week (great experience with L&D), and after discharge they scheduled us a follow up appointment with a pediatrician here. We missed the appointment today as we weren't aware of it to begin with (maybe in the overload of info we forgot). No problem though, they called to reschedule. My wife and I decided that to make sure our daughter would be covered by insurance I would drive to the nearest military post to enroll her first (we're active duty), and then schedule her follow up later this week. She explained that most insurers back date coverage for newborns, but any way we wanted to wait. Our daughter is feeding fine and you can visibly notice her starting to put on her baby fat, so later this week shouldn't be an issue. This is where she threatened to call CPS. If you want to anger parents, keep on threatening that and see how much business you get. Maybe it would be understandable if she was in critical care at birth, but our daughter was not. Update: two days later the social worker called and understood why we'd be upset, she said she would contact the clinic to address the issue. Shortly after the clinic director called and apologized for the misunderstanding, apparently it wasn't supposed to be a threat but rather a way to help the parents get care (insert emoji with quizzical look). Changing from 1 to 3 stars.

I have called four times this morning with no answer... I sit there and let the phone ring for a while too. It’s not just one or two rings. How is anyone supposed to make an appointment if no one is going to answer calls. If you guys are open 8-5 then maybe you need another or a new receptionist 🙄🙄

Dr. Powell is a bully. How dare him try to browbeat a new mom. I wouldn't trust him with my goldfish. He's condescending with a pit bull disposition.
