Republic Development Corporation

Usually homeowners only consider the home builders in their search for a new construction neighborhood, but we will never ever look at a neighborhood that is being developed by Republic again. From the homeowner’s side, their business practices are shady and immoral at the least, illegal most likely. Get EVERYTHING in writing, and even then expect to deal with hurdles when Republic still controls the HOA. Our home builder told numerous families that we could install 6’ fences and the only restrictions were “no chain link”. We live on a safety hazard (12’ drop off into a ditch) so this was necessary. Come to find out, there is a separate document that is not included from the homebuilder, NOT officially recorded with the CC&Rs, and NOBODY was told about that has extremely strict fencing limitations. Thinking that this was an HOA management company issue, we appealed to Republic, who we thought would SURELY understand our plight and allow us to install adequate fencing to protect our children. We were met with no concern other than that of “our neighbors” and the overall look of the neighborhood. Whereas we were shocked that a developer would not be responsible for providing safe lots, they will not even allow US to make our own lot safe because “it won’t look good” in their rigid and arbitrary interpretation of this definition. For comparison’s sake.... we are taking about a 5’ open picket fence when they do alowna 4’ fence. We are completely appalled that a company could be so secretive and shady in their practices and if a mistake not admit it and make concessions to those affected. This company definitely has no concern for the homeowners who are living in their developments.
