Incredibly unique and cute tatami rooms reservations required. The food was quite good, with the spicy tuna roll and dinner sets being the standouts in our experience! We ordered a bit too much, as we really wanted to try everything, and nothing disappointed!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
One of the finest Japanese dining experiences I’ve had outside of Japan. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Karage and tempura were marinated and fried to be perfectly crisp but tender. The salt seasoning was next level. Service was stellar. Couldn’t ask for a better birthday dinner, will be back.
Super cozy setting and extremely delicious foods for a very worth it price! They had a small tatami mat room that was extremely comfortable, and we had a server that was extremely kind to us. The portion size of the foods that we received for one person was absolutely insane! For the 7 of us, the total came out to be around $253 tip included, which is around $36 per person, which is not bad at all for such a delightful restaurant! I definitely would recommend it to anyone living or visiting Portland!
I’m scared to show everyone of how good this place is bc they are already always booked yettttt they still get us in somehow even if we call in same day. This is the BEST sushi I have ever had, the fish melts in your mouth, even the rice here tastes different and amazing! They go way and beyond with services too. We recommend the crunchy salmon roll, tuna roll is the red in the picture and the California roll
Wonderful food, great customer service, highly recommend giving them a try. It's busy even during lunch so a good idea to call ahead and make a reservation since there isn't a lot of space. Sushi is very fresh! :
We had Sushi Lunch A and Lunch combo tonkatsu + sashimi on a chill Friday noon, and the food is delicious and fresh! I love the vibe of the restaurant and of course the food, which really gives an authentic taste of Japanese cuisine. And you can have each of these with less than 30 dollars per person : Recommend to anyone who like great food, even if you never tried Japanese food before :
The freshest fish and seafood, masterfully prepared!! Traditional in the best way, with genuinely warm waitstaff. We enjoyed the fatty tuna belly otoro, abalone tempura, salt-broiled mackerel, and a sushi set. Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you, this gem of a restaurant is a must-visit while in Portland!
Spent my birthday here with my bf! The waitresses are from Japan and they offer quality food and service. This restaurant has been here for almost 35 years - it’s a bit pricy but worth a trial when it comes to some important occasions
Typical Japanese restaurant. Wide range of menu is impressive. Tuna from Hawaii is super good. Everything here was good.
Amazing sashimi and sushi. Second time coming here and did not disappoint! The staff are so kind and welcoming. Make sure to call ahead and make reservations.
