As a whole, it has many and all things to do. Shopping, eating, drinking, sports, etc. Located within walking distance of the Rice University campus it is perfect for the students, staff and faculty to make frequent visits. However, the parking is a major issue. You could spend hours trying to find parking. It has gotten better since the parking garage installment but still an issue.

This place is dramatically changed. I won’t call it a village anymore. There are none of the local Mom and pop stores liked it used to be. Those stores are which set it apart from all the big malls. Some of my favorite stores moved to different locations, I hope they doing well wherever they move too, I will follow them and avoid the village. Also, They put up the meter parking, annoy me so much. Traffic is crazy because people don’t want to pay for parking, waiting on the street for someone to leave the spot and caused back up traffic, took me 30’ to leave the village the last time I was there.

Rice Village is a nice place to visit. The shopping is pretty good and there are some great places to eat. Parking is free if you're not there long, and reasonable if you plan to be there a while. Traffic around the area is always a bit frustrating, but overall it's a good experience.

Great place to spend a couple of hours in a coffee shop or dining at one of the spots in the area. I did try the new cake place(Sarah's Cakes??!!). High on the coconut cake. Very authentic and reminds me of my grandmother's cakes. I left off a star for the parking meters ...really guys??!

Nice shopping center for folks visiting the medical center or the University of Rice's campus. Many nice restaurants and a half-price bookstore. Down side is that the stores are a bit pricey and it is hard to find a parking spot. This year the city has installed parking meters making your visit cost $3 higher each time!
