The sister restaurant of PRESS 626 wine bar in Norfolk. A wine bar focused on creating a unique experience through superlative wine and food programs, eclectic design, and unparalleled service with a sense of Southern hospitality.

I attended this location during its run as Press Wine Bar. It was fantastic. Riptide is okay the decor looks exactly like Press with Tiki Bar elements added. I ordered the calamari which was delicious, a coconut mojito which was so-so and the steak skewers. The steak skewers tastes like they were steamed and had little flavor beyond the beef taste. I don’t know why I expected them to be grilled. These were $17.  Our waitress probably checked on us 10-15 times during our 1.5 hour visit. My friend ordered the tuna which we also thought was supposed to be grilled but it came out lukewarm and also lacked taste. We mentioned this to our waitress and she did not seem to care or notice the sauce for the tuna was missing. The owner/manager came over and was very nice and apologetic for the meal. She explained they just opened and were still getting their bearings. Maybe I’ll be back here for a happy hour solely due to the customer service offered by the manager.

The food was GREAT !!! The brocolli was real..... good food, waitress was very attentive

Comfortable  feeling  room.. beautiful  service  people.  Nice front  porch. Good happy hour  till 6 pm.  Specials for football.  Burgers and  menu items are  very good and creative.  Live music  includes  good players who are  also songwriters. Restrooms are  clean  and artwork  interesting  . A beautiful  surfboard is  displayed  on  back wall.

The first time I ate here coincided with the first time I wrote a yelp and google review. I usually only use yelp/google to find out where to eat, but after this experience I wanted everyone else to know how great it was. The menu stated they use local food vendors and you can instantly tell. I’m not sure if it was grass fed or whatever else, but my BEC burger was way above the local competition and priced the same.  As for the service: My drink was never below half full even with a descent crowd. My order was taken and served correctly even though I had a lot of alterations as I am a picky person. The owner was there and although she was busy she made sure to come to our table to greet us and make sure everything was up to her high standards.  As for the atmosphere: The music seemed to be a blend of beach and reggae which you would expect at a tiki bar The bathroom was clean The decor was nice and new, but it still made me feel as if I was at a local beachy tiki bar.

The burgers are great! The service was friendly and very helpful. I loved the decor of the place, very beachy. Lots of TVs for sports. The drinks from the bar were very good. Definitely going back.

We heard about this place in Coastal Virginia Magazine and had to give it a try. It did not disappoint. Elizabeth was very accommodating and felt like an old friend. The food was high quality and delicious. We will be back.

Bugers are really good. Beers are the usual suspects and then some. But still the usual unusual beers. I'd like to see some real craft beers. Service was great. The place has a friendly layout, good size bar, tiki patio and TV's for game day. Oh and a different lunch special every Monday. I'll be back...

My MIL is in town for a long weekend and she loves strawberry daiquiris. Thought a "tiki" bar would serve them, even called ahead to ask. Sat down at the bar, we each ordered a strawberry daiquiri and my husband ordered a beer. Finally got our drinks, and it tasted nothing like a strawberry daiquiri. A woman who I can only assume is the owner or manager asked us how our drinks were. I told her it doesn't taste like a daiquiri. She preceded to tell me we ordered off menu and she's not even sure how the bartender made our drinks since they don't have a strawberry mix. Offers no real apology or to comp the drinks that we clearly were not going to drink, and that she even admitted was not a real strawberry daiquiri. I see her go corner a staff member, who was then obviously upset. Yes, she should not have told us they served daiquiris but an honest mistake for someone working in a freaking tiki bar. Paid for almost $30 tab $10 each for the daiquiris. Won't be back to a business who treats their customers and staff so poorly.

Awesome place. Great vibe a very cool place for chilly beverages and tasty food. I had the Hot Crab Dip with fried wontons. Plenty of crab and not a single shell. The wontons were large and made for easy scooping to the yummy dip. I had a double Rip’s classic burger with a side of al dente  broccoli and I was stuffed however I did take a pie e of homemade key lime pie which was a delightful snack later that evening. I welcome such a nice addition to Shore Drive and I recommend everyone give it a try.

We had a great time! Food and drinks were delicious. Samantha our waitress was friendly, nice man brought our drinks, and the GM Chele checked on us to make sure everything was on point!
