Wow! Where to start?! All the staff are so personable and professional. Josh and Brandon are your guys when it comes to any maintenance issues and they’re on it quick! You can tell Ben the property manager really cares about his team. The property itself, equally as amazing. Open concept spaces, vaulted ceilings, spectacular views of downtown Kansas City. I love the amenities. Pool, jacuzzi, free coffee/espresso bar, gym and yoga studio, private parking. Great location in walking distance to the River Market area and a quick Bird ride to PNL. All of the other residents are so kind and considerate of one another. I would 10 out of 10 recommend living here. I would definitely consider myself a proud member of the Roaster’s Block community.
I was struggling to find an apartment that would check all of my boxes, and so thankful I found Roasters Block! I've been here since January 1st, and loved every second of it. I'm honestly really impressed with the maintenance crew at this place... Always quick and responsive with the requests.. Tracy is awesome and I love seeing all the pups walking around. If there was anything I could change, I wouldn't. High ceilings, updated appliances, huge walk-in closet, big windows, low utility costs, fast Wi-Fi... Definitely recommend this apartment to anyone who is searching! *p.s.. don't raise my rent when I re-sign my lease in December.. LOL <3
I’ve lived here for 3 years and have loved it up until about a few months ago. It seems like someone’s car is broken into and has a window busted every weekend. My boyfriend’s car has had his windows busted twice and now and has nothing in his car, his windows are just tinted. His door has damage now from someone trying to pry it open. I get that there’s not much that can be done, but at least make sure the camera works in the parking lot. I shouldn’t be paying $90 to park there.
I lived at roasters for years and loved it. It has the best parking garage set up that I have ever experienced. The common space is great. The team at Roasters is amazing. Tracy, Brandon, and Josh all go the extra mile to make sure you feel at home and are well taken care of. They were all extremely accommodating even during my move out process. I will miss Roasters.
HUGE fan of living at Roaster's Block. Tracy was tremendous to work with. The facilities are always super clean! Cant beat a good day at the pool and lounge area! Having espresso there is extremely helpful too. The best part is definitely Brandon & the maintenance staff though. Always super helpful and quick! Those guys rock!
Loved our time at Roasters. Espresso machine along with various milk options is top notch. Maintenance crew Brandon and Josh are great guys and work hard. They’d help me out all the time with things like letting me borrow their shop-vac. Would recommend.
I lived there for 5 years. 2 floods! The one in March caused me so much grief! I was expected to pay my full March rent , some of my April rent and the all of my May rent. All the Harwood floor was ripped out, no bedroom carpet and my walls were yellow. I was embarrassed to even have friends over. I was thankful they let me break my lease. Ben, Brandon and Josh really helped but the way I had to live for 3 months was something I would never want anyone to experience. I know the leasing company changed, which makes me sad for all of you because they were amazing, beware of the owners of the building. I tried to work with them for more compensation this summer and I was told they appreciated my contacting them but they could not help out anymore. So my advice to you is, carry big time renters insurance and while the Swofford building is beautiful and but old, so floods can happen easily!! This just didn’t effect me it impacted lots of units and I know the majority of them felt the same way! I know things happen for a reason and I ended up in an amazing place.
Lived here for 2 years and had a corner unit on the third floor. The view is what sold us on Roasters Block, that paired with the absurdly high ceilings made our 1500 square foot unit feel enormous and airy. The building has an indoor garage, which is nice in the winter time. The location was on the quieter side of downtown Kansas City but convenient for easy access to MCI airport and the freeway. One sad thing is the amount of homeless people in the area, be vigilante not to leave valuables in your car if you park in the surface lot and be aware when you take your dog out to the bathroom at night. The downside to the view and high ceilings was the high utilities costs. Our apartment was always very cold in the winter and very warm in the summer. During certain extreme winter weather events over the course of the 2 years the metal panes around the window would freeze over and then melt on the windowsills leaving dirty puddles. It also seemed to be constantly dusty, no matter how often I cleaned. But I guess thats apart of living in a 100+ year old loft building. The pool is nice in the summertime, the first year it wasn't great because people who didn't live there were sneaking in and it was too crowded. But they definitely fixed that. The maintenance guys, Nate & Josh, are fantastic. Always on top of repairs and super friendly. The people in the office were nice too. Overall not a bad place to be, and if you can snag a corner unit you'll be very happy.
The best Management and Maintenance team ever. They are so helpful, passionate about their careers at Roaster’s Block and making the experience all the better. Ben, Brandon, Josh and Traci will go above and beyond and even get to know your pets. If you have a maintenance request someone will be there to fix it that day. They have a fabulous tea and espresso/latte bar with Messenger coffee beans. The apartment’s common areas are always clean and never crowded. The pool, gym, grills, patio, coffee bar, beautiful apartment units and event space and easy location to streetcar and highway are 10/10.
Such a great place to live! All the amenities are so nice and the staff is incredible. If I needed anything fix the maintenance staff did it within 2-3 days after submitting the request! During the winter months, they even shoveled the sidewalks, pool area & more pathways for the residents. Quiet neighborhood yet a fun area, walking distance to a lot of restaurants, coffee shops & more. I would definitely recommend this building to anyone who is looking!
