Rocky Mountain Associated Physicians

These people were awful. The dietitians are FABULOUS and I still work with them even though I had my actual procedure some where else. I wanted to have an appointment with Dr. Simper to discuss privately my options and make sure I am selecting the right surgery. They did not keep things private and required me to go to a class as a consult were I spent less than five minutes with the man. Ray was unkind and uninformed as well. I was concerned about how I was being treated. I shouldn't have to explain to the receptionist why I want a private appointment to see the doctor. In any other type of surgery, you are consulted in private and aren't forced to ask personal questions in front of other people. They told me I could have an appointment finally. I was upset in their office that same day though and they said I wouldn't be happy. What the heck? This surgery is about fixing medical problems. Well an hour before my appointment they called me to say that Dr. Simper would not see me and would not do my surgery and that I would have to go somewhere else, after I had waited and went through the whole process. Their reasoning? I wouldn't be happy. What I don't understand is I have concerns and as a patient I want to have them addressed before I let someone perform major surgery on me. I expect to be treated with respect and privacy. They were unprofessional and rude. I am a person with legitimate concerns. I wasn't even allowed to ask the nurse my questions. I was just told I wouldn't be a good fit. They want money. That is it. They don't care about your health concerns or fears regarding the procedure. I felt mistreated. If they really believe obesity is a medical condition that needs treatment, they wouldn't be shoving people through in mass quantities to get surgery and to have 5 minute consultations. The surgeon himself seemed ok, but the staff is unprofessional and don't respect privacy. Go somewhere else. Again, the St. Mark's dietitians are fabulous and I still continue to see them. The rocky mountain associated physicians don't care about you, just your money.

Dr. McKinlay was amazing. I am 1 year out and down 160 pounds. Everyone from the hospital staff on the day of surgery to the office staff, nurses, and Dr. McKinlay were helpful and always available should I need anything.

Dr Paulk and his staff are amazing. I highly recommend this physicians office.

I am so glad that I made the leap of faith and went to Rocky Mountain Associated Physicians and requested information about weight loss surgery. I had my gastric bypass (Ruen Y) done in November 2017, the work done by Dr. Rod McKinley, and 145 pounds later I am a walking billboard for the success of the work!

I'm done with Dr Simper and his crew. It's really hard to schedule time off work and he constantly cancels and reschedules appointments. No regard for the patients time or situation. The last appointment was scheduled 3 times and was 3 hours before the appointment. Its BS. Now I lose a half day work because it's too late to cancel the time off and they want to reschedule again?? No thank you. Apparently once they get your money and do the surgery, you're not important any more.
