Totally blown away by the dedication to customer service from Royal Books. After a book I ordered through ABEBOOKS came in a condition that varied from that described, Kevin Royal Johnson went absolutely above and beyond to rectify the issue in a fair and satisfactory manner. It turned out they had two copies of the same book, and had sent me the incorrect one. Throughout my dealings with him, he oozed class, care, and dedication to ensuring his customers' satisfaction. Very impressed.
Royal books has rare and unusual books that you will not see anywhere else. The only disappointment is that the selection from their inventory online is not greater.
I didn't visit Royal Books, I visited Johanson Rare Books and Kelmscott Rare Books both of which are next door. Johanson's and Kelmscott are world class stores with excellent stock and helpful staff.
Kevin runs this shop with integrity. This is the only place I will visit when looking for rare books.
Such a unique space with a great catalogue. Many treasures.
