They having new office so got some technical problem on the phone. Try extension 311 to get to talk to them. Or contact via Facebook. I’m here for new ID but lucky for me that they’re not so busy today. So they do ID & Passport at the same day. The staff very friendly and helpful.
I regret coming here. They wanted a copy from Thailand. I've actually had it for 44 years. Maybe I can't look at it very well. But it's a real birth certificate. Thai helps Thai. So cry So sorry
Hands down the worst consulate I’ve ever dealt with. I was at the ticketing counter at JFK yesterday when they told me i needed a tourist Visa and I couldn’t just purchase one, I kept asking how I could get one and Qatar airways just kept telling me I needed to contact the Thai Consulate. This is after they failed to mention that on their site, they said I just needed a valid passport which I have. After the Thai Consulate site states that you can apply for one AT THE CONSULATE and the reviews showing they never answer their phone. I trekked to the consulate with my suitcase and all. When reaching the counter, an older man was so unhelpful. I explained the situation, and he didn’t even want to hear me out, he kept pointing to the sign to go online and apply for the visa. I showed him my boarding pass, my passport, confirmation, everything he said “I don’t need to see that, go online.” I said “Do you know how long it takes?” He said “I don’t know, go there” pointing to the site again. I said “Sir, my flight is today is there anyway to expedite this?” He said “No, go online”. The site to this day says it can be done at the consulate. Another customer told me his brother got his in 24 hours, but he is going on week 3, and had he not come in to inquire it would’ve gotten delayed longer because THEY messed up. Mind you, he has a sick immediate family in Thailand. No emergency visa?? Also, good luck when applying online, they need pretty much your first born’s social for a VISIT. Air bnb/accommodation proof, travel docs but where you work, how much you make?? Proof of purchased Thailand health insurance even if you’re employer covers it. It also makes you enter a pic of your spouse and any children under 20 which kept blocking my submission despite me selecting that I was SINGLE. No option to select no kids. Just a MESS. This resulted in a completely cancelled trip I’ve been planning with friends for months. So disappointing.
Staffs are not friendly. Open at 10 am but close 1 hour for lunch and close again at 3:30pm. How many working hour a day. I spent 4 hours there including 1 hour wait for them to finish lunch. I need help so I go there but one lady gave me an attitude said to me why I didn't process Thai pass 7 days earlier. Even I was purchased the ticket less than 5 days. Even though, they have hired with people income taxes, no matter what reasons, people come in for help, they should not give or show their attitudes at all.
They didn’t have a menu or drinks or food available. Worst Thai restaurant ever
They used to pick up the phone. Impossible to get any answers. This lead to my visa not being complete.
Nice people. Helpful. But, the process is rather slow and very procedural. Office hours are very short. There are several parking lots nearby and street parking along 1st street. Appointment recommended/needed. Phone line can be frustrating at times when no one pick up the phone during the office hours.
The people at the front desk are just doing their job but the “Boss” who comes and looks into your paper is an absolute absurd person. I had to go there three time and each time he needed something else and when I asked to talk with him and totally ignored my request. Absolutely unacceptable that he wouldn’t want to talk to a customer and explain or give any explanation. You can’t even complain to anyone about it. Waste of time! I have never had any problems with any other embassy!
Really good experience. I mailed my passport and in 10 days I had it back with my visa. I think I owed them this review. At first I was a bit nervous because of some reviews I read here but if you send everything the consulate asks for, you get the results you expect. Communicating by phone is a bit hard but once you reach them, they are very helpful and respectful. Same with Emails. I got my questions answered in just a couple of days. Now I'll be on my way to Thailand!
Applied for thai visa online application and received the documents in less than a week. Kind of hard to reach them via phone and email. As long you submit the necessary documents then you will be fine. I would highly recommend to call them than email but you have to try many times to finally reach them. Good luck
