A lovely little place. The staff is very down to earth and nice. The food is incredible and honestly I felt like it came out pretty quick. The price is very reasonable making it a great repeat place and not just a once in a while treat which I'm glad about because I'd been hoping this could become a regular joint of mine and it most definitely will be now. It is loud, being a tavern, so be aware if you have noise sensitivities it's a small place with music and TVs going and people talking.
First meal of my Portland experience. I don't know if I was just really hungry or if it really was that good, but I had an out of body experience while eating my fried haddock sandwich and then I looked down and it was gone. Everything was perfectly crispy and seasoned- even the fries tasted exponentially better than your run of the mill dive bar. The bartender was super nice, it felt like it would be easy to become a regular there. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in town.
Great little spot. Home away from home, your favourite local dive bar. Good for breakfast from 8am or a few drinks in the evening or afternoon if you are thirsty!Food: 5/5
You can never go wrong with Ruski’s. It’s a small dive bar with decent food and drinks. The service is awesome with attentive bartenders and wait staff. I highly recommend the daily specials. Recently, they have not had the homemade hot sauce, but that was incredible when they had it. Not really vegan-friendly but there are vegetarian options. Homemade baked beans are fantastic, as well as the Benedict, and the hot dogs. The burgers are good and the sandwiches are big! Breakfast is very good, especially for a bar.
Gotta be honest: I ordered the chili cheese dog with pure skepticism. I thought, "no way is a chili cheese dog worth $15". I was mistaken. The first two bites were worth that and everything else is a bonus. So if you're a fan of chili cheese dogs, hurry up and get one before they realize what they have and start charging more.
I visited this place when I was at a conference and it was so cool! Recommended by a friend, I made my way here for breakfast and had a stellar experience. The vibe is warm and inviting, the food was ample and delicious, and the owner is kind and friendly — we had a really nice chat. I left full, happy, and looking forward to the next visit. Highly recommend.
This is undeniably the best place for country fried steak I've ever had. I've sampled it everywhere, from Wisconsin to Louisiana, Missouri to Arizona, and Ruskis surpasses them all. The staff and chef are exceptional, treating us like cherished locals. We dined there three times during our seven-day vacation, and every dish we tried was outstanding! A definite must-visit!
