Dr. Shah is a cool guy who's very interested in his field of study. I respect that. He seemed to care about my issue and what I was facing, which I appreciated. He talked to me for quite a while, which is rare. However, after a slew of diagnostic exams, he told me I would have to live with 24/7 headaches. That it couldn't be helped, and maybe I could try botox. It felt very lackluster to have that sort of reply after he seemed so optimistic about pain management and alternatives. He wanted to put me on meds, some of which I've tried before and none of which worked. It turns out my headaches are a result of 4 injuries stemming from a concussion I had years ago: - possible damaged facet joints - post-concussive syndrome & inner-ear imbalance - ganglion cyst benign, not causing pain but present - vision train from the PCS. Instead of telling me I had to live with the pain, he should have helped me find ways to find it. He should have sent me to a spinal orthopedic surgeon or suggested alternative means. He should have sent me to a balance-focused physical therapist to address the dizziness and vision issues. He should have done more than simply tell me to live with it. Thus, my lower rating despite him being a cool person. I think a lot of people would have given up and taken the doctor's word at face value. Just lived with the pain. Dealt with it. Pushed through when they didn't have to.
