S.S. Badger Lake Michigan Carferry Service

I own a small trucking company and decided to put my semi on the ship to see if it was feasible for my other trucks and drivers. To say it’s a great alternative for certain trips is an understatement. It is cost effective, manages to save some on duty hours for the driver, and the stateroom is a great place to snag a nap while en route. The food is acceptable, the coffee plentiful, and there’s more than enough to see while en route. On board WiFi is good, and despite other reviews I found absolutely no issue with the temperature-once you’re out on the lake you’ll catch a decent breeze. If I could give the SS Badger 6 out of 5 stars I would. My only complaint is that the Spartan isn’t running Manitowoc to, say, Michigan City, IN to make a ferry ride feasible for other truck routes besides Michigan destinations.

Love it! Able to sit back and relax instead of the drive through Chicago. Great experience for the kids and whole family alike. Badger Bingo is a must when on board! Nate makes it fun and memorable. And make sure to visit the Badger Boutique for the memories.

Such a cool experience even though I got sea sick! There's a game room, room for little ones to play, bingo with prizes, good and more!! Would definitely do it again!!

Fun , bingo caller and crew are a hoot , highly recommended. Lots of smiling faces onboard. Lots of Harley road warriors from all around the world.

5 star service, friendly staff and crew. Other than the weather made it a little bumpier than normal, it was an excellent alternative to driving down through Chicago.
