Hey, I just wanted to give a shout out to Gerardo for being a hero to the Story residents last night! Our heat went out on what seemed to be the coldest night of Winter thus far, at about 8/9pm, and on a Holiday weekend at that! By the time I got off the phone with the emergency line, I walked into the hall and Gerardo was already here checking things out, to find a remedy. I was up a while before turning in, so I know they were working on it for some time, and didn't give up! I woke up at 2am and my heat was working again! I am very grateful to be able to come home from a day in the cold and have the heat working today. Thank you Gerardo, and team!
I just moved in here after having to move out of my old places with super short notice. Yoanne who helped me was amazing, he drove an hour to the building at 5:30 to make sure I could move in that day. He was super responsive and helpful! I could not have moved in on such short notice without him!
My wife and me have rented for over 2 years. I never thought to make a review, because I had an uncomfortable situation in another property owned by the same company. I think its time I commend the people that give us such good treatment. Good -Areas are always clean - I often run into the nicest person that takes care of the building's cleaning -Staff is respectful and follows up on requests -The area -Security cameras Bad -Sometimes maintenance requests take a while, but keep in mind, I only had problems during the pandemic -The gym area is small -Washers and dryers are inconsistent. Although they repair them within 72 hrs.
I am updating my previous 1-star review to 3-stars. The laundry room was consistently out of order from around Aug 2022-Feburary 2023. They did a horrible job fixing it until the new year. I haven't had any issues with it since -- although it is still too expensive, which seems standard for the area. The maintenance staff continues to be great and the leasing office is improving. I hope to change my 3-star review to something higher soon. There are still issues with the rent too high and the care from the company itself. It's also important to note that building does not cool very well, especially if you face east and get the early morning summer sun. They have not updated every unit with improved circulation in the bedrooms. The dog park is also quite loud if you face east, with dogs barking as early as 7 am on a weekend. Redpeak can't control that, but they can reflect the noise disturbance in their rent prices.
Hey redpeak, I’ve been to Taco Bell’s that can run a building better than you can run Story. UPDATE: As you can see Amber made a comment about my lease renewal which is another reason to not live here. You have FIVE days to decide whether or not you move out or resign a new lease once they give you a renewal and you are required to give a 60 DAY notice if you wish to move out. Nice try, Amber
Renting with RedPeak is truly terrible. We pay a higher price then other properties in the neighborhood for amenities that are barely maintained. Maintenance requests take weeks and several visits to resolve with little to no communication. Recently, they’ve been communicating about long overdue requests about the broken garage door and drying machines. I’m grateful that the customer service team is starting to try, but they’ve been negligent for so long that it’s hard to believe promises of repairs. Hopefully, the company starts to direct more budget to its property and maintenance staff and less to marketing.
Just leaving this review for Shelby at RedPeak. Can’t emphasize enough how helpful she was finding an apartment. From finding the perfect fit, to touring, & finally helping us with our application - she was super helpful & awesome the whole time! Really looking forward to moving into Story.
I can not criticize RedPeak strongly enough. If you come to look at the building, you will likely be charmed. The apartments are comfortable and well-appointed. They have working fireplaces, and massive balconies. The lobby is beautiful, and the location is great. Do not sign a lease. RedPeak is shady, bad at managing, and they do not care about tenants. RedPeak is the worst company I have ever lived with. If you check out their reviews, you'll see that their employees are very happy, but their tenants are emphatically not. My experience at Story Apartments formerly Safari Club, has been pretty bad and I would not rent from them again. Here are a few reasons why: 1 We signed our lease in June 2020. When we first moved in we were very happy, but that didn't last. Our first year there they spent several months renovating the lobby which included taking out an entire indoor, inground pool. It was loud, filthy, it often shook the whole building, and we did not have a front door for months. When we signed our lease were not told at all about the plan to do this renovation. When we complained, we were told we were fortunate to be allowed to stay in the building while they renovated! 2 Read your lease carefully, especially RE: renewal. You have to give them 60 days notice if you intend to move out. And here's a heads up: you get your new lease to review 65 days before your current lease ends. So you have 5 days to decide on what you want to do. If you decide to move and it is before your lease ends, you incur a penalty. If you give them 60 days notice and that takes you past when your lease ends, you have to pay for the additional month at the VERY high month-to-month rate. Also...they add a lot of fees to your total rent. You have to pay a share of the common utilities for the common area! assessed based on your unit size. They will not explain how this assessment is done. 3 The bike room was broken into at least twice. The first time, a couple bikes were stolen. We emailed RedPeak immediately after finding out. RedPeak didn't email the building at large for 3 days, and the door wasn't fixed for 5 days. This room also holds storage lockers for tenants. A month later it was broken into again, RedPeak did not email anyone about it. 4 The garage door broke over Labor Day weekend, and became stuck in the open position. I emailed about when it first got stuck. RedPeak responded to me 4 days later to let me know they do not check email on the weekends or holidays. OK, fine. Even after learning of the problem, RedPeak did not email the tenants about it for 5 days. And the door remained broken for over two months. People were paying a premium for a covered, moderately secure space, and the door to the space was wide open. In all that time, RedPeak only emailed tenants twice, neither time to suggest a date it might be fixed, nor did they find some way to secure the property. 5 During our lease, the laundry room concession suddenly changed without warning. We went down there one night with the apps for the previous concession and they, obviously, did not work. RedPeak left it to us to contact that company for a refund, and did not help at all. 6 The laundry room machines are constantly broken. There are 5 for a building of 76 apartments and around 116 tenants. None of the driers dry very well. Nonetheless, the price has contiinued to increase to use them. 7 In late April/early May we had to allow CenturyLink/Lumen to install routers in all of our apartments. We were told we'd have them switched on by mid-July. We were told there'd be an information session organized. We heard nothing about it again. No info session, no news. When I decided to reach out and ask about it in September, I was told that CenturyLink was 'waiting on receipt of additional parts to complete the installation". On September 22 we suddenly got an email that Lumen needed access to our apartments the next day. As of October 21 when we moved, we still had no Lumen internet. RedPeak is terrible.
My maintenance team is so professional, efficient, polite, and helpful. I’ve had several issues that they have fixed immediately. They are always dependable and are the best maintenance team I’ve ever had in my history of living in apartment communities. They rock!
I have lived here for three months. I enjoy the area and the apartment. Management is down to earth and super easy to talk to! There are some quirks, sometimes an elevator needs repair, and sometimes the water goes out but for the price you can't beat it! Edit: update, lived here for two years and enjoyed the experience. Got bought out by red peak who thus far has been not great to work with. I was leaving regardless for the burbs but go look into red peak before you make your decision. They gutted all the staff for the building replacing it with their own.
