Safeway

Place has practically everything you need. It's clean, with friendly staff, fresh poke, etc. Side note is that there isn't a large selection of "organic" or healthier alternative produce, if that something you are looking for. The 4 star on my end is for the price more expensive than Whole Foods as a reference. This is a popular location that attracts a lot of tourists, so the prices are typically higher than other grocery stores in the area. If you don't mind that, than happy shopping! Plus, if you can't find parking on ground level there is a ramp on the right side of the store for roof parking. To access roof parking from the store you can take the stairs or elevators. Usually you will find a parking spot up there.

We are spending a week of vacation in Waikiki, looking for where to buy poke, lau lau, salmon fruits, guava drinks and local dishes. I found this Safeway in our neighborhood. I made a good purchase, everything very fresh and well presented, I even added some colorful Hawaiian wooden spoons, a precious souvenir for my kitchen. I highly recommend it.

HUGE store with everything you could need. The isles were well stocked and very organized. Lots of fresh produce and nice meat selection. The only negative about this store is how much everything is!! The essentials like milk, eggs, fruit...the majority were $6-$10 each. So just be prepared to pay a little more.

Awesome tacos. Loved their food and quality is great. They make ‘em fresh and they make ‘em fast.

The associates are super helpful. I was helped by a young lady in the pharmacy today. I had to pick up a rx for my brother after leaving the ER. She was so super sweet and helpful. I also had assistance from a young man behind the meat counter who was helpful as well. The young man at the cashier was so patient and kind with multiple orders and bagging everything just so. You don't get that many places now days.

The current status of this Safeway would be considered "under construction". I work the evening shift at a nearby restaurant so I'm usually there at an hour approaching midnight. The gentlemen working to give the store a face-lift look seemingly intimidating, but I needed their help to get milk in the middle of their revamp of the dairy section. They were more than happy to assist me at the late hour as their renovation work is done solely overnight. Their Aloha spirit and outstanding assistance in getting my groceries in the middle of working on their project was amazing. Safeway staff is just as attentive and overwhelmingly friendly. The revamped could be a bit more clear, but my experience at this store has been nothing but stress-free during every visit!

Our local store always greets me by name with a smile. Always great savings when you use just 4 U with your Safeway app. Don't shop hungry! Grab a poke bowl in the back of the store first.

I now shop at the Tacoma store on Proctor since it's the nicest in town. The customer service is always on spot. Other stores could learn what it means to be of service to the customer from the staff on Proctor. The only reason I gave them a 4 out of 5 star rating is the pricing. This actually has to do with Safeway Corporate rather than individual stores, but still the Tacoma district manager ought to lean on them to offer better sales.

Great location, variety is vast, fresh tuna poke with all marinades tried all varieties, delicious edamame, especially spicy at the same counter. Very friendly staff! Good selection of wines compared to closer ABC stores. For coffee lovers Starbucks on premises.

The products are of high quality, a lot of organic. We hurried by taxi and asked for quick service, the seller was just super fast. That's really cool. Thank you, Hawaii
