They were out of multiple meat options, one of their screens didn't work so didn't even know what entirely was on the menu. I've never seen a dirtier food serving area. The employees were so slow. When we arrived we were #6 in line to order and despite having two people preparing the food it still took 15 minutes. Then the check-out employee was taking so long on every customer that we had to just abandon our food or else we were going to miss our flight. We stood in line for 30 minutes and still didn't get any food.
I stop by Salsaritas every time I'm in the Charlotte Airport. They have the best food! Everything I have tried from their menu has been excellent. Especially for Airport food. They make their own warm tortilla chips. The line is a bit long, but that's because the food is so good!Food: 5/5
Avoid at all costs if you value your physical and mental health. Something rancid in my bowl. Probably the chips. Had the worst customer service experience I've had in years and years. It was insane that this place was actually running. Employees were confused and didn't seem to know how to do their job, very very slow, and didn't communicate with customers whatsoever. The employees that 'served' me seemed super annoyed and angry at every customer. Again, blown away. Out of so so many options. I saw a worker rinsing a bleeding cut in the sink, right there next to the griddle press thing, and then go right back to working with no bandaid and no glove. What the actual, F!? Absolutely worst meal and experience I've had in years and years and years. Possibly the worst food service meal I've ever eaten. Puke! Vegetarian options: No veg option really. They didn't have fajita veggies or whatever, and were unwilling to substitute more beans. This place is terrible. Avoid at all costs if you value your physical and mental health.
Message to owner: Coach your staff on better Customer Service. My food was very good, but the cashier was so rude. She didn’t even greet me. Just looked up at me with a glare, smacking her gum. She was doing so much gum smacking, I could hear it from the line. You’ve got good food, but staff needs coaching… you may lose customers due to them. Good luck.
The food is lacking…. The employees look sad & underpaid like they ready to fight everyone in line. The cilantro onion & tomato was fresh, the chicken was flavorful & juicy. The serving area was DIRTY. Somthing tasted spoiled in my bowl. Probably is the corn salsa. Im scared. Will be on the look out for stomach issues later. Wont ever be returning here, rather die.
This place is the absolute worst. On my first ever layover in Charlotte around 8 PM I noticed that the food options were very limited—Chick-Fil-A was closed on a Friday, not sure why—so I figured a knockoff Chipotle wouldn’t be too bad because how can one mess up rice and beans right? Wrong. Along with the staff not wearing hairnets with the exception of maybe 2 people, they all seemed very disinterested in fulfilling orders when the line was very very long. Having worked in food service, I understand that it’s stressful and annoying especially in airports in a pandemic, but at least act like you care about fitting what I wanted into my burrito? Speaking of burritos, i got the chicken one and it was absolutely tasteless. There’s no choice of brown or white rice, the chicken looked like tofu at first glance, and even adding black beans, red onion, corn, lettuce, and guac didn’t help. These are simple ingredients that usually have a lot of flavor and are easy to season. When I came back to the counter to ask for salt, no one had a clue and i had to go next door to Jersey Mike’s to ask, only for the very kind employee to point to a napkin/salt/pepper station behind me. You’d probably be better off going to Jersey Mike’s anyhow because a decent sandwich is better than tasteless “Mexican.”
Better and cheaper than the other Mexican spot across the way. This spot and Papa John's always seem to have staffing issues so don't be surprised if they are closed...they are not very popular places to eat in the atrium so I wouldn't be surprised if the turned them into something else.
Was travelling to Iowa City from Reagan, I had a connector through Charlotte, NC. I thought wow this place looks great as the food looked and smelled good. and I was in the mood for a chicken bowl. Sadly, I was disappointed with the food. The experience I had was the person in front of me ordered a steak bowl and the meats were lined up one in front of the other with the Steak closest to the customer side of the counter and the chicken was in the middle. So when the employee put the steak in the bowl the juices from the steak sauce went into the Chicken. I am not sure who is responsible for making sure the employees are cognizant of this type of problem but it was disgusting in my eye. I hope this review provides some insight in terms of food contamination and how this is unacceptable. I also felt the food had too much salt but I guess this is common with eating out. You never know what really goes in the food you are eating.
I wish I had chipotle instead
How about a smile?! First impressions are everything with a restaurant. When it was my turn in line, the person behind the counter never smiled or made eye contact, and obviously wanted to be somewhere else. They were out of rice for my veggie burrito, so I asked for pintos along with black beans. The pinto beans were soupy. Although she waited a second for the juice to drip out of the slotted spoon, it didn't help much. It was too soggy to eat with my fingers, the foil wrapper was useless, and no plate was provided a cost thing, I get it. So I wound up using the plastic bag to eat on. Actually the taste was okay, but a little bland. I can overlook that. I mean it's the airport, after all. No, this review is mainly about teaching new employees to smile and act happy to serve customers. It's not that hard. I've done it. I won't be back.
