My oldest loved visiting the battlegrounds and the battleship USS Texas. Lots of room to run around and places to take a family/group picnic in the park. The museum is not for young kids. We we're not able to go to the Observatory deck on out last visit, but we are planning to go back. Price wise it's a fair price for an all day activity. Most items on the ship you can touch and sit on, some places are off limit for safety and restoration process.

Beautiful Monument if San Jacinto and reflection pool. Plenty of Texas history. You can walk through the Monument lobby and visit the gift shop. Do offer exhibits, historic movie of the San Jacinto battle, and an elevator trip up to the star at a cost. Also have re-enactment of the battle of San Jacinto on special holidays. The tour of Battleship Texas is great worth the price of the ticket. New and very nice park nearby, named after Captain Juan Sequin, who was under the command of Sam Houston. Delicious seafood at the Monument Inn Restaurant too.

Actually quite a detailed museum on one of the greatest battles of the U.S., where over 25% of the current territory the U.S. was won. Plenty of exhibits on both the Mexican and American sides, including art, models, and weaponry. The monument itself is an impressive building worthy of even the Washington D.C. area. And the murals on the way there were of photographic detail and realism. The grounds themselves were well kept and clean.

Way more to see here than I expected. It was well worth the stop. Lots of great early Texas artifacts to view and a story about everything. Allow plenty of time if you enjoy reading about all the displays. The museum is split in 2 sections. One is free and the other is $6 per adult. There is a small theater that has scheduled shows and you can ride the elevator to the top of the monument for $6 each. At the top of the monument there’s just an observation room. There’s not much up there but it was a neat view.

Wonderful history! Be prepared to walk, a lot! Many stairs, however there is ramp accommodation for wheelchair patrons and a lovely elevator. There are a few free exhibits, but all three of the other attractions cost. There is limited shaded picnic area and plenty of parking, including handicapped spaces. The view from the top is fantastic though!
