They will try to over charge you if you move out early. They were charging for upgrades and changing paint on the wall think that they want to upgrade themselves, but they charge the tenant that’s moving out the labor cost and then they take your deposit and charge you an additional month at 50% and then they went and tried to charge me for the deposit again and deposit again as a balance when they already are withholding my deposit they’re trying to overcharge me almost $4000. I’ve texted him. I haven’t heard from the owner of the company so They will overcharge you so in order to get things squared away
I'm not sure how they are getting my review pulled down. Renting from Sederson has been absolutely insane. Amber is the classic used car salesman. Answered every call and text when I was touring and applying. Then as soon as they got the check they are ghosts. Neighbors broken down car was in my assigned spot upon move in, Amber is of no help locating the owner for 3 days. The bathroom and kitchen have missing hardware allowing water to drain into the cabinet underneath, drains leak, just an open hole in the wall behind the shower head so all the bad reviews you see about mold from other tenants is way more believable than the obviously fake good reviews they have. The "repair" to the shower head was hilarious and the wall is completely falling apart from the foundation crumbling. First week get a dog from across the street attacking me and me dog. Amber says great that helps us in our court case against them. They nor the city of NKC enforce a leash law, and let neighbors cats run feral even in the sub zero temps in January. There is zero insulation in the walls with obscene utility bills. Their office and maintenance is totally incompetent. I was in the shower and got my front door beat on until I answered in a towel and a man was trying to push past me to enter my unit as I was telling him no he was disturbing me and my animal and needed to leave and he tried to force entry and argued with me. Amber violated other renters HIPAA rights by trying to defend the maintenance person's rude demeanor and treatment by justifying that the unit we was supposed to be and disclosing medical information. NKC is a "3rd class city" by MO Law meaning we have zero rights. Neighbors are partiers and leave trash everywhere, even filling up my bins when they have their own, and once again it's tolerated and not dealt with. Their lawn guy rides around sucking on a electric cigaratte that doesn't look like nicotine and ran his mower into the AC unit. Meaning maintenance had to come in and test the 30 plus year old unit that last summer the tech said needed replaced before the impact by the vape pen enthusiast mower. They won't replace it. They Paul the maintenance guy didn't switch the HVAC back to heat when they came in in December to test the unit and I had house plants die from the freeze. Pipes freeze like crazy due to poor maintenance. They've done nothing to replace the damage they caused. They are randomly fixing up the garage that was completely falling apart when they haven't fixed any issues in the unit except for recharging the AC that still runs constantly and rent got driven up. Same guy that smashed the AC unit is doing the work.... Neighbors junk is all over my yard as a result of the work. Was told it would be a "few"days. Had to reach out multiple times on day 4 for an update. Told it would be now 7 days. Every response is you're not our only resident, type victim blaming gaslighting unprofessional responses. The answer is just it's your fault move, when I follow the lease, and I moved to NKC to be closer to family that frequents NKC Hospital, and to be able to go back to college. Worst business I have ever dealt with by a mile.
I have been very pleased with how quickly Sederson responds to any maintenance issue I've had. Paul is especially smart when it comes to problem-solving anything that needs fixing. Sederson also does a good job on maintaining our yards throughout the seasons.
After the fire of my son's apartment complex a different property management company, the Sederson team helped me find a new apartment on a SUNDAY, showing us multiple properties. The online application is easy and approval was fast. I could not have asked for better service. IN TWO DAYS, my son had a new home. I am thankful for this team.
Please do your research before using this company to lease your home or to lease with them. Amy and Russell who work for company have been scamming renters. Both Amy and Russell have been very unprofessional. I wanted to use this company to rent my home out in a very affluent area near Kansas City but they first said one price in person and now they want to overcharge. They tell you one thing and in when in writing it's something else. They are very misleading and I overheard Russell say a racial remark about a tenant which is against the ethics in real estate and in leasing. This company has no integrity and care for others. I understand it's just business but not all business is good business. I would not recommend this company.
Sederson Management helped me to get settled from day one. I can always count on maintenance to address my issues quickly and professionally. Paul ,always has a solution to every problem and always gives 110%. Amber, Office Manager for Sederson, has made me feel like I am top priority and has always made me feel valued as a renter. I highly recommend Sederson Management.
I had a service call today. He I am terrible with remembering names! called an hour in advance to notify me of his arrival time. He was prompt, thorough, helpful, respectful, friendly and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to ensure my issues were resolved or addressed. I have only lived at the property for a few months now but I am very impressed with the service I received today. Amber, with Sederson, has also been very helpful in providing guidance and information since the day I applied for occupancy, she always responds quickly no matter the urgency of my request.
We ended up having to look for a home starting in May 2020 when covid was raging, which was not a fun experience but Sederson made it so easy and had safe precautions in place. We have lived here since July 2020 and just resigned for another year. We love the home, its in great condition although with management companies, you're going to get a large range of home/apartment quality due to owners, they've always addressed maintenance issues within 24-48 hours, sometimes the day of if their schedule allows. In December during that crazy wind storm, a neighbors tree fell in AND THROUGH our house and Sederson was amazing from the beginning. We had people from Sederson stopping over within an hour or two of the call. And they've dealt with the insurance company and the contractors to get everything fixed - one of the perks of renting! Excited to spend another year in this home! We have never had a management company this competent, communicative, and easy to work with.
I highly recommend renting with Sederson. We have been in this home since July 2020 and love the house and the management company. Our furnace had been having issues the last week and our heat kept going out. Maintenance came by 4 separate days within an hour of receiving our call. The furnace was testing fine and had no error codes but it still kept going out so they replaced a new part every day until they figured it out. Nice and toasty now. Always read bad reviews with some skepticism - people don’t always take responsibility for things and like to pass the blame. Sederson is the only good management company I have ever worked with.
I had a situation where I landed a job I did not expect to get, and in less than 10 days had to relocate from out of state. Sederson was incredible to work with and their communication was really fast. Josh gave me a virtual tour over Zoom before digitally signing which saved me two days of travel time. Amber Jett helped guide me through the app process and made sure I was taken care of. I had a place with them in less than a business week, and they worked with me to get me moved in on a Saturday outside of their regular operation hours. My experience with their maintenance staff so far has been amazing. If you see a property managed by sederson that you like, can't go wrong with these guys.
