Well, I have never ever had Indian food in my life until the other day. On a previous business trip one of our customers is Indian and as things go we started talking about restaurants in that area to try and Indian was one of the choices. I shared that I never tried it so I wouldn’t know what to try and was open for recommendations. I didn’t try it on that trip but now with a few recommendations I was ready for the next time I found a good place. So on this last trip there was Shahi Palace a very short distance from my hotel. I did a takeout order of Butter Chicken, spicy. It cleared my sinuses but didn’t torture my tastebuds and the rest of my mouth. Sadly there are no photos as it was a takeout order so pics wouldn’t look as nice as in the restaurant. I really liked the Butter Chicken and Naan. Nice meal. Well, the weather took a turn for the worse and my flight was delayed again and again. So my hotel stay was extended. I had to venture out and send some packages back at a UPS store and then after a while on the phone with the airlines I decided to eat in and went down to the restaurant. This time I ordered the meal for one which was more than plenty. Appetizer, entree’ & naan and dessert and tea. Very nice meal at a very nice price. I did snap some photos this time. Tikka Masala was fantastic as well but my favorite so far was the Butter Chicken. Very friendly and attentive staff, several people checked on me regularly. Highly recommend.
The inside is pretty neat they have all sorts of decor. I got the butter chicken with garlic naan and my fiancé got the chicken tikka masala. The rice was super good. My fiancé said her food was very good and flavorful her chicken was white. But my butter chicken had way too dark of meat to be considered chicken. My butter chicken was super dark meat it almost didn’t even seem like chicken it seemed more like beef or some other kind of dark meat honestly. Hopefully it was actually chicken and not what I think it was. The customer service is decent but the guy who took our order didn’t seem very enthusiastic and acted as if he hated his job. Other then that I would definitely come back. It would be 4 stars but the few problems I mentioned made it a 3 star review.
VERY nice dining experience. My Krahi lamb was seasoned to perfection. We also ordered naan and it was a very tasty addition to our meal. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I encourage you to try the Shahi Palace for a unique culinary experience.
This was the best tasting food I had while traveling South Dakota. Customer service was fanatical. The food was tasteful and fulfilling. Love there garlic naan bread
Chicken Tikka masala. Chicken had no flavor so it brought down the goodness intensity this dish had potential to have. Masala was good with good heat but the Chicken tastes like water. Messed it up tremendously. Garlic Naan good fresh and taste.
We placed an order online, using their website, which was user friendly and probably just as fast and simple as using DoorDash or Grubhub, etc. After placing the order, I called the restaurant to notify them that we had a nut allergy and they were helpful in letting us know that nothing we ordered contained nuts. The food was ready quickly and the size of the dishes gave us leftovers for another 2 days. The food was delicious and authentic. Our family loves Indian cuisine and this place did not disappoint. Everything was fresh, hot, and flavorful. We have not a single complaint. Unfortunately we were only passing through the state on a long cross-country drive, but we'll be talking about this place for a long time. We should've ordered even more for the road!! We loved the food.
I love this place. I think it is a hidden gem in Sioux Falls. I love experiencing new cultures and a big part of that is food. This place is so authentic and delicious. My wife and I always get the dinner for 2. It's a really fun way to try multiple items. We always go home with leftovers too. The food hits just a good the next day! Everytime we walk in the door I feel like the staff is excited that we are there; so welcoming. Forget about the same old burger spot and the 2 for microwaved 20's. This is where I want to eat when I get to choose. And if you like spicy, they can make that happen. Parking: Free parking and plenty of spots.
Beautifully decorated restaurant with a nice atmosphere. There are many vegetarian and vegan options, the online menu also shows which menu items are dairy-free. I had the Dal Tadka and it was quite good. My family enjoyed their food as well.
First time I've eaten authentic Indian food! It was excellent! Very delicious! And the staff was very find and friendly! Definitely going back and would highly recommend this place to anyone! 5 stars all the way!!!!!Food: 5/5
Submitted an online order via their website at 3:54 pm for pickup at 6:25 pm. Waited in restaurant for more than 45 minutes as they were busy with customers. Wondering why I planned ahead when it's obvious the restaurant doesn't. When I talked to the manager and asked her why I was getting texts telling me the order was being fulfilled at 5:54 pm but nothing was ready at 6:20 pm, she told me they were busy and the kitchen wasn't told that the order was placed for a specific pickup time. Why have a scheduling option then? Order finally ready at 7:05 pm. Don't worry about planning ahead for family meals by ordering at this place. Poorly done!
