There are some real winners on this menu combine traditional and American styles Chinese food. The dry fry wings are incredible! Other highlights for us are the Shandong Beef and dumplings. The dumplings were so good we ate them before we could take a picture. Service is quick, plenty of beers available. This is a repeat visit spot for us
It has been a few years since I eaten at Shandong. I was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was as good as I remembered it. Prices are still reasonable and service is decent. Both the pork belly fried rice and the chicken noodle soup were delicious. The fried rice had a decent amount of pork fried with a few veggies and a bit of egg. The .noodle soup was filled with home made noodles and had shitake caps , chicken and a few veggies in it as well. We ended up taking about half of the portion home. Recommended
Pretty good overall. Food was fresh and hot. The soup dumplings were very tasty and fresh. The southern style fried rice tasty as well. It was nice you could choose between soy sauce based or sea salt seasoned fried rice. I think that's a unique option to offer. Lemon chicken was ok not my favorite but decent overall. Restaurant was very clean with was nice to see. Definitely will be back to try more items.
Had the Ma Po Tofu, seen below. Sauce tasted good. A tad spicy but not much. I would have preferred more veggies in place of rice but that’s just me and most people probably want the rice there were delicious peas and mushrooms in it. Lots of good options on the menu and the waiter had a lot of good advice. I’m looking forward to trying their other dishes. Lots of good vegan options and I’d like to try the hand pulled noodles.
Good location with ample parking. The place is clean and the food made with care with and a flavor-style that tastes truly homemade. All dishes had distinctive flavors and the presentation was straight forward. I did not taste MSG. Service was attentive and the bar nicely stocked. Pricing is fair and quality very good. I will certainly be back for more.
Where’s the shrimp? Normally I love ShanDong and have for years and would give it 5 stars plus for flavor, portions and quality. However, today I’m disappointed to find only four small shrimp in the large quantity of shrimp soup. If I had know it was mostly broth and an abundance of vegetables with is great, I would have ordered a different shrimp dish as it’s shrimp I wanted mostly today. You would think shrimp soup would fit the bill. Not so much. Parking sucks for this restaurant too especially if disabled.
My husband and I LOVE Shandong. We did takeout several times before Covid restrictions were lifted, but were really excited when the dining room opened again a few weeks ago. We also took a friend on our recent visit and she had never been before. Parking can be a bit tricky here, especially if the restaurant is busy. DON'T park in the lot next door as that does not belong to Shandong's and your car will get towed! I don't think the word is out yet that they're open for dining inside and since we were there a bit early, we were set. Like many Chinese restaurants, there are SO MANY OPTIONS!! We started off with appetizers; xiao long bao, dumplings and 2 orders of happy hour wontons. We did the pork kind AND the crab. These are some of my favorite wontons ever, mostly because they have meat. Many especially cheap places don't fill the wontons. Xiao Long Bao are pretty good and larger than others I've had. For entrees, we had grilled eggplant with chicken, beef and broccoli, pork belly fried rice and chicken and snow peas. Everything was so delicious! The beef and broccoli is my favorite anywhere; flavorful and tender. I feel happy and loved when I eat it. My husband always loves the grilled eggplant and can't ever get enough. The other dishes were also great, my friend especially raving about the crunchy snowpeas and the delicious pork belly. We weren't drinking this time around, but they also offer great cocktails.
Phenomenal food. Tastes fresh, and wonderful. Would highly recommend the Shandong Chicken.
We celebrated a birthday here with 12. The dishes are fantastic. Many complain how good Chinese establishments are difficult to find these days, and those claims are not without merit. Or Dim Sum is pushed on patrons who do not necessarily want or seek it. Not an overwhelming menu with a 100 choices but enough to satisfy every palette. Chinese chicken soup enormous and great. Vegetarian options: Moderately fried Tofu appetizer is great. Parking: During weekdays may be difficult as a section of the lot primarily for another business with warning signs.
My husband and I visited here during the recent winter storm and enjoyed delicious handmade potstickers. So good! We are definitely going back. The only complaint I had was that it was very cold in the restaurant. Even the workers were wearing coats and hats while working. It would have been more enjoyable if the heat was turned on. But who knows maybe it wasn't working.. not sure!
