Shanty Creek Resort

Quaint, clean rooms with small balconies. Some rooms overlook the ski slopes while others can see the lake. The staff is nice and smiles as they walk by. The disc golf course is fun - you play on the ski slopes! Overall, I'd recommend it.

Great skiing. Some of the staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable but others had no clue of where anything was. Also there was almost no signs pointing where to go. Overall had a good experience even with the minor problems. The runs were nice and there was a lot to choose from. The shuttle system was very efficient with nice and friendly drivers. Would rate 5 stars if there was more signs and more informed staff, but overall a good experience.

We received excellent service before and during our stay at the Summit hotel. We we're called prior to our stay to personally ask if we had any questions and be informed of certain lift ticket deals that only apply if added to our online reservation. The employee in the lobby was very nice and helpful as well. The room itself had some dated kitchen appliances but we didn't need to use them nor was I really put off by them. The jacuzzi tub was really relaxing and we were surprised to find a silk comforter on the bed. Our biggest complaint was the towels and robes which were extremely scratchy and uncomfortable. It really put a damper on our relaxing weekend to put on robes that were super uncomfortable and towels that made you itchy when drying off.

This place is truly a hidden gem! The facilities are clean, the staff are very accommodating. The skiing is fantastic! The nearby town, Bellaire, is quaint and had a couple great spots worth the 5 minute drive. Our room had a full kitchen enabling us to enjoy more time at the resort but with the option to dine out

Excellent venue with dining, bar, and live music on weekends. Food is very good. My fish tacos were excellent. Others enjoyed Prime Rib, Ribeye steak, and Meatloaf, all excellent in flavor and presentation. If there is light on the hills, a window table has stunning views. Dining side of Restaurant was nice for conversation, the bar side noisier when music started.
