This is a great venue for small, intimate performances. Good acoustics. There is a bar, but options are limited.
Not only is this a dope venue for performance with high quality sound & video capabilities. It’s amazing for social events too! Fortuna, Matt and their team are unbelievably collaborative and I love seeing how much they do for organizations with community outreach initiatives for the arts. Can’t go wrong here from any angle!
I had an AMAZING time here last night. Came to see Joe Pino and Dwayne Eubanks and the show was fantastic! The venue has a great vibe to it, very NYC Loft style. The front desk was great beer selection is pretty good for such a spot. Front desk was friendly and polite. Always had a smile on her face! The bathroom could use an air freshener thou!
There were some wonderful performances. Sound engineering was divine. Miles was AMAZING.
We've played there twice and it just gets better and better. The people who run the space are genuine music lovers and artists and the sound is incredible, the sound guy is a pro, the backline is the best, and they do great video/audio recording. A++
I have rarely experienced such a dedicated group able to accomplish so much in such a little time and at such a short notice. Our Axion Estin Foundation and all of the musicians and volunteers involved in our NYSCA-funded "Byzantine Soundscapes" folk music program could not have been happier with the experience. A Brooklyn-based oasis for recording music and for listening music that deserves all the recognition and the support it can get. Thank you, Angelo Lampousis
Music was extremely loud.....Lighting was too bright. The crowd was very rude. The particular evening that I attended it was not crowded. I asked for Blue Moon beer with an orange wedge and they did not have the beer. The place obviously is under POOR management. It almost seems as if they are desperate for a dollar. Terrible experience.
A very nice & small intimate venue. Great for live bands and jazz ensembles. Nice & chill vibe. Would totally visit again.
Our good friend, Matthew Garrison, is one of the top bass players in the world and is also the son of the legendary Jimmy Garrison John Coltrane's bass player. Matt and his business partner, Fortuna, opened ShapeShifter Lab a few years ago and we are huge supporters of the space. It's set up like an art gallery and has some of the best live new music, jazz, and fusion in NYC.
Great place to experience your favorite band/artists perform. I had the honor to experience Paul Beaubrun and his band Zing Experience, the legendary Boukman Eksperyans group! An event organized by Haiti Cultural Exchange “selebrasyon” on May 17th for Haitian flag day. It was freaking AWESOME! I danced till my feet were numb.
