Sharma Himanshu MD

My husband and I have received excellent care from Dr Sharma. He gives us very individualized attention and is always competent.

This is not my first meeting with Dr. Sharma, but at other times he was the on call at United Hospital. This time I was given him as a replacement for a former MD I had been seeing at United Family Medicine, that was referred by a retiring MD I had seen there for 20+ years. I greeted him and he asked a few questions as to my purpose for being seen, I was in for a medication renewal, and though he did not bother to look at my chart, he was dismissive and asked if I would be evaluated by another medical source if he could get me an appointment. I was also suffering from a horrible earache and randomly clutching my ear because of the piercing pain. Dr. Sharma maintained a full flat affect without exhibiting any concern for m physical display of pain. He had a student with him which he failed to ask if he could bring in nor did he introduce said student.He abruptly left the room without even indicating if I was to stay. He has very poor communication skills. He also had this flat affect in the hospital when I was visiting another patient. He was vague and did not respond to any questions the patient asked nor his family. There too he abruptly left. He is very discouraging and bluntly refused to treat me even examine me for the piercing pain in my right eat. This person should not be in General Practice. When He did come back with a hard copy prescription for my renewal medication he said he would not be treating me nor would he accept me as a patient. I refused his prescription which was not the correct amount. As a person of color and a senior citizen I was left abandoned by this Medical Practitioner and he walked off with his student scurrying behind him. His display was a horrific example to the student. I would never recommend him and called the United Family clinic manager to report him. I left a message as the manager was busy. I am still going to this clinic and have another appointment with a resident for an examination of my ear.
