Its nice for beginners and intermediate level skiers. I have been here and mountain creek feel this is better than mountain creek. Almost all slopes are open during the season. The food and washroom arrangement is better at Mountain Creek. Consider the difficulty of walking in Ski shoes.

We visited shawnee mountains during new year. It was super freezing !
Ski area is extremely spacious, this was my first time visiting a ski area. Its so much fun than I ever imagined.
We see various events and activities going on here through out the year. Just book the tickets online or buy them on the spot.
the food options are good here, we loved the coffee !
Snow Tubing was simply Mind blowing, we were a bit skeptical about it at first, eventually went for it and didn't feel like coming back.

Shawnee is a decent place because it is close to me. The artificial snow they use is always good and it is rarely too icy to ride/ski. I have two complaints about this place. 1 the mountain is not nearly challenging enough. I rate myself as an intermediate/advanced skier, and even I found myself to be bored after a day of skiing. Lastly, sometimes the mountain "safety patrol" were a bit over-bearing and aggressive at times. I was standing near the lift at the bottom of a run and I had a patrol officer yelling at me to move from the bottom of the run. I am a full grown adult by the way. I get you have to do you're job, but I wasn't yelling at you so you shouldn't be yelling at me. Other than that, it is a decent local mountain that is good for beginners

The family was visiting the area over President's day weekend, so some of us decided to hit Shawnee. The place was absolutely packed, but even so, every employee we came in contact with was extremely pleasant. The food was cafeteria quality, and the arcade left a bit to be desired, but the instructors were very nice, and even the people attempting to control the madhouse that was the parking lot were very helpful. Some outdoor fire pits and things of that nature would have been nice, for the people that were not actively skiing/snowboarding.

I went there on a church retreat and it did not disappoint. There were several options for food (though it was all the same really) and the rentals were fair. All their equipment was in good shape and the employees were hard-working and very friendly. The mountain itself is super fun to be on and they take safety seriously providing useful guidelines. In snow tubing, employees gave the option of spinning besides just pushing you down and one member (I believe his name was Sam) really put the effort in to spin. I would go back in a heartbeat if I could.
