Shelby Martial Arts Academy

Awesome school. Great for kids and adults. The instructors are fun and kind. Dedication is expected and keep the children motivated. They should hold classes on how to be better parents.

This is my second review here as yelp keeps taking it down for some reason. I highly recommend this school. The instructors treat you like family and not like a number. Dedication is expected of the students and to work hard, I like that they don't put up with attitude from my kids and that they quickly put a stop to it. I watched as they slowly turned from ungrateful little snots into mature young adults with the help and guidance of this awesome school. It wasn't easy and certainly required alot of work from myself, the instructors, and my children, but now they flourish in school, have high self confidence, and are even polite! Something we don't see to often these days. If you go anywhere else you are wasting your time. Help yourself and your children and train here. ps, I see that one lady left a nasty review. Instructor Paul is one of the kindest and most caring people I have ever come across, what she failed to mention is that shes a horrible person with a terribly negative personality. All of the parents in the lobby are thrilled to see her go. I just wished they told us sooner that she left a bad review. -A proud Dad

I have been learning tang soo do at Shelby Martial Arts Academy for a few months and really enjoy the class. The instructor to student ratios are good. We have a good core group of students in the class.

My son has been going to Shelby Martial Arts Academy for over a year and a half. He has continued to improve and go up in belt rank. Since he has been going there he has developed improved self confidence and self discipline. Paul is a great instructor who shows knowledge with techniques as well as patience and understanding with the students. He is always willing to help out a student with both martial arts and even with personal issues. He is genuinely concerned about the students. He even came to me and suggested my child switch to a harder class to help his progress and and now he has shown even more improvement. I highly recommend giving this martial arts school a try!
