I love this place especially their baked goods. However I wish they would add the Chai Latte to the reward program. I’ve asked so many times. If a tea is part of it I don’t see why the chai isn’t. Thank you Smith Canteen!
Very mixed feelings about this place. Great pastries and the turmeric latte is good, but rude staff, no decaf espresso beans come on, serve your pregnant/caffeine-averse but love coffee taste population! I've found decaf lattes in small town cafes in nowhere, USA but somehow not here?, no wifi and no bathrooms.
I am visiting from California. Best cappuccino I've had so far this visit Blue bottle was Luke warm to say the least Perfect temperature and amazing taste. Friendly warm staff. Really love the atmosphere. They know what they are doing.
They made a really good flat white it’s off-menu, but really not much of a stretch, and they knew what it was. They have a pretty extensive food selection compared to otherwise similar coffee shops. They have a bunch of baked goods and don’t seem to sell out early. They also make sandwiches and salads, although not fresh—they seem to be sitting in a refrigerator case below the baked goods display, which is a bit of a downside in my view and might stop me from coming here for lunch. The pumpkin bread was good, about average for good, bakery/coffee shop pumpkin bread, but still good. But really, the flat white was objectively good from the first sip, with or without a lid if there’s too much foam, a lid can remedy the situation, but it wasn’t necessary here. The staff was a little surly, but I was also admittedly a little distracted as I ordered. Here’s seating for maybe 15. I didn’t see a public restroom. It’s right by the Carroll street subway station.
I loved this little coffee shop in Carroll Gardens. My soy latte was delicious as was the chocolate chip cookie. The baristas were friendly and quick with service. We got a nice little table by the window, there was plenty of seating even for such a small spot.
1st time here! I was so excited to go to a coffee shop that cares more about the environment! Initial impression: While the atmosphere is nice, and the coffee and Avo toast is great, I was surprised at how off-putting the barrista was when I went this past Wednesday. I cant imagine she is tipped very well. Her sarcasm is wild. I didnt seem to be the only one that was given attitude, either. I wasnt sure if it was just me, and my interaction, but about 10 mintues later, another customer had an unsavory experience with the barrista. The customer asked about the coffees she was waiting on, and after the barrista's inaudible reply from where I was sitting, the customer said, "ok, thats Fine.. I was just asking!"... I've had friends also go in and try this place, and they've had a similar experience... Bummer! I'm not sure quality customer service is their strong suit here. They also dont have a public restroom, or Wifi from my understanding.. I dont get the impression this coffee shop wants anyone to be their regular place.. Sad, because their Avo toast with an egg on top is very good. Whoever is doing work in the kitchen is doing God's work! Maybe that attitude could rub off on the unpleasant, red-head barrista! My hope, is that the owner actually sees these reviews and can reward their kitchen staff for making up for the lack of service there was from the barrista. And maybe a quick customer service refresher/being a nice person! Good coffee, Food, and Customer service is not hard to come by in Brooklyn/NYC. If I was the owner, I hope they would make it more of a priority to provide better service.
When your sign says “Brooklyn’s best iced coffee” you better put up or shut up and the iced coffee I’ve just purchased has me feeling merely whelmed
I liked the airy atmosphere. I think it was to do with less laptops and more social chatter! My espresso was very good. The person serving me actually smiled and engaged in conversation!
We need more local places like this cute coffee shop. I ma sick of DD and Starbucks! Very friendly owner, very helpful staff. They really made me feel they appreciate the fact that I buy in their place.
Enjoyed the coffee here but at he quality is not consistent. Don't go in there with super high expectations. It's a neighborhood coffee shop that's a good in and out or lounge around.
