Immaculate haircut by Tatiana. She made me feel like a movie star and cut my hair in less than 20 minutes. Very swift and professional, knew exactly what suits my face with her years of expertise. They have a ladies only room discrete which is ideal for those who need a little more privacy. Definitely coming back here again for a fabulous cut and blow dry!!
I came in today for a wash/cut/blow-dry. Although I did not have an appointment, I was seen pretty quickly by the lovely Amina. She’s amazing and cut my hair exactly at the length I desired. Really good experience overall. I wear a headscarf and the salon accommodates for women who may not want to show their hair in public as they have a “discreet” section. 10/10 will definitely come again!Services: Hairstyling
I visited the Snip and Snape salon last Thursday and while I was there I showed the staff member Tatiana a colour I was interested in. My hair was a ginger colour at the time I expressed that I wanted to go to a dark ginger. I even showed her a picture. She advised it would look nice with a darker root blended into this colour. I trusted her as a professional hairdresser. Once she washed my hair I realised that my hair was extremely dark and looked nothing like the colour that I had asked for. My godmother and I explained that this was not the colour that I had wanted. Tatiana said that once I washed my hair once Or twice I should see the results. I had no choice and have washed my hair twice and my hair remains dark brown. I paid a lot of money for my hair to be brown instead of ginger and much darker than it was in the first place …. It’s heartbreaking. I had my hair done professionally two months ago, bleaching my hair to get it a ginger colour for this hair salon to throw all that hard work and money down the drain. To add insult to injury when I explained the situation to the manager I received accolades of how professional his staff is with no consideration of any compensation or improving my situation. I am so disappointed with the unprofessional treatment in general.
I came on Monday morning and it was Tatiana and I believe her colleague name is Simone. They were so lovely! Tatiana did a beautiful balayage for me and layers. I absolutely loved it! Ive been here before and this was my 3rd time. I'm never disappointed. They always put you at ease, give you advice and listen to what style you'll like. It's always a pleasure and stress free. Thank you! :Services: Blowdry
I'm extremely disappointed as I booked my daughter for a haircut today at 11 a.m. with Dana . We made it on time I booked a taxi to arrive on time to not let anyone down but when we arrived I was told that our appointment had to be rescheduled due to an emergency. They had called me 3 times in a row the day before when I was at work and didn't pick up the phone. Apparently I did call them back but no one answered so I was unaware of the cancellation. They left no voice message and didn't bother to call me back today as they opened at 10 and my appointment was at 11. I didn't like they way the guy a hairdresser handled the situation saying things like its not his responsibility and what you want me to do. No apologies, no sympathy. Even when they guy called their manager no effort was made by either of them to make it up to us. I assume the manager didn't care either as I had requested to get a discount on a haircut which wasn't approved by him. I do understand that emergencies happen but I do feel they should have at least called me this morning when they opened to let me know about the cancellation to avoid disappointment. I feel like they don't value their customers as nothing has been done to make it up to us...
The hairstylist who coloured and cut my hair did not understand English at all and cut my hair exactly the opposite to what I asked for. I am very disappointed. I have been to Snip N Shape a few times before and have always been happy with the service. But not this time. Edit: I read a few other reviews and yes the stylist kept saying a single word "layers" ‍
I honestly really contemplated whether or not I should post a review of my experience here, but everytime I look at my hair I just get upset and angry. I booked a haircut and balyage session here at the end of August, together costing just over £200, with obviously the balyage treatment making up the most of the price. There were two women here on this day, one who could speak English and was quite rude, and the other who couldn't speak much at all and ended up doing my hair. They checked that I was in for balyage and the woman who did my hair asked me for a picture of what I wanted, to which I showed three. She took me to a room to examine my hair and then led me to the private room where I had booked the treatment. Whilst the haircut itself was absolutely fine, the balyage was a joke. First of all, I did NOT get a balyage treatment and I did not get what I showed her in the pictures. What I did get were highlights from the very roots of my hair, which were left on for so long it looked absolutely ridiculous. Very harsh, almost white stripes going through my hair from my roots. ANY stylist and person with hair knows that that is NOT balyage. After washing and toning my hair, I got my haircut and my hair dried. And then realised that the blonde streaks were now blue/green from the toner being on for too long. Whilst the bleach and toner was left on my hair the stylist was on the phone talking/texting. The whole way through the stylist didn't speak or say a word and each time I did say something she gave me a smile in return clearly not understanding what I was saying. I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt throughout the whole treatment as I've never had my hair coloured at a salon before. But leaving the hairdressers with blue/green/white stripes running through my hair for £170+ was absolutely ridiculous and a joke. No where else would that happen. I did call back and explain that I was very upset with the experience and they did offer for me to come back and see what they could do. I just honestly did not see the point and saw it to be a waste of time. Even the hairdressers I did go to to get it fixed were shocked. I have to now go back to them every few weeks to get the streaks toned to match my original hair colour. So I'm now paying extra to make my hair look like what it was BEFORE I went to snip n shape. DO NOT go here for balyage/highlights. Pay a little extra and get it done somewhere professional.
Very nice and professional I was a bit scared to try to get my hair cut done in a new place but absolutely worth it! Had a private room ladies only and could feel comfortable taking my hijab off. Amina did a great job and I'll be back for sure x
A terrible experience. I went there a few months ago for a cut and a blow dry. I wanted a side undercut and a cut accentuating my curls. My stylist Olga took me to the wash straight away without exchanging a word with me apart from "hello". The wash was stressful for me. Olga kept dropping the shower head loudly in the sink and it was hurting my ears. I was moved to the styling station and that's when I learned that Olga doesn't really speak English. I tried to explain to her what I want to have done with my hair. That I want an undercut and to make my curly hair look better, maybe give me some volume, layers. The only word she seemed to pick up was "layers" as she repeated it twice. The undercut part got ignored. I replied with "Yes, layers", but was not sure if she actually knew what I wanted. I came in with a coffee, btw, and during the appointment I was forced to ask Olga to throw away a half-full cup, because when she started cutting my hair, a lot of hair ended on my cup and I wasn't even offered any place to put it on, I held it in my hand through the wash and the beginning of the cut. Probably because Olga couldn't communicate well enough to offer that. I read really good reviews on Treatwell, so I let Olga proceed with my haircut despite the lack of communication. I had no idea what her plan for it was. She wasn't really gentle. I was sitting in full sunlight with a hoodie underneath the gown and I started getting hot - both from the temperature and... anxiety. At one point she stopped cutting and moved onto giving me a blow-dry. The hair wasn't the length that I wanted yet and I didn't want the regular straight hair blow-dry. The service description on Treatwell said they can give me a blow-dry suitable for curly hair, but Olga was using a round brush and a very hot dryer without a diffuser my poor scalp. I stopped her and asked "What are you doing?". She couldn't speak with me so she called over the lady who signed me in. She came over and asked what was wrong. I told her that I am afraid that my stylist didn't understand me properly and I have no idea what is happening and I don't want a straight blow-dry. She briefly spoke with Olga. I understood because our native languages are a bit similar that Olga had been told I want hair curly. Then the lady said that Olga is giving me the blow-dry already to finish the haircut and she started drying my hair with the roller brush again. I started crying, because at this point I knew, that nobody really cared what haircut I wanted. I was just another customer to serve quickly and charge money. Olga stopped and complained to the desk lady that I was crying. That lady came to me and told me that Olga doesn't speak English, but she is a great stylist. She was defensive and unpleasant. She said that I wanted layers and Olga is giving me layers. I replied that just "layers" doesn't mean too much to me when it comes to a haircut. And she suggested that maybe my English was bad I have a Polish accent and I don't understand what layers are, which was insulting. She then moved me to a different chair and said she will finish my haircut, because she understands English. She was very annoyed by my reaction to Olga's services and kindly informed me that she is in a hurry and has another customer coming in a few minutes. She was trying to ask me what I wanted, showed me some pictures, but I was too upset to explain and I just wanted to go home as soon as possible to end this unpleasant experience. I almost ran out from the salon at one point with my hair still wet and cut unfinished. This lady was so unhelpful. But I forced myself to stay, so I wouldn't have uneven hair. I felt like a hostage there. I ended up with an uneven choppy haircut anyway because this lady was rushing, was only focused on "layers". Their manager called me later to sweet talk me and apologise and invited me back to fix my hair, but I will never set my foot in this salon again. A waste of money. I ended up going to Open Barbers 2 months later and the experience was the absolute opposite.Service: Hairstyling
The salon is very nice and stress free. The all team is very pelate. Dana was very good at her job. I didn't know what I wanted to do with my hair I had them all long and really bad looking, the ends were so dry and difficult to comb. Dana knew straight away what would suit me and easy for me to ware. I liked the fact that she showed the care to my hair and give advice. I was very happy about my hair cut and will definitely return to this salon and Dana again. Good reasonable prices!
