Something Blue Bakery

Walked in and I was very pleased with the selection. I was hoping the red velvet would be a cream cheese frosting but it’s just a very light frosting. Not overly sweet, which I like. They have cookies, cupcakes, and make made to order style cakes.

I had been wanting to come here for a little while now to try it out and as soon as I entered the door I was pretty taken by surprise. The decor and atmosphere is exceptional, like you're in a Wes Anderson movie. I got 2 small cupcakes; carrot cake and red velvet, with a lemon square and they were all spectacular. The lemon square was absolutely my favorite with the perfect amount of crunch and subtle flakiness. The total for all 3 was under $6. I will be a repeat visitor undoubtedly, and I would recommend a visit to anyone.

I have a child at Purdue and called Something Blue Bakery to see if they could make her a chocolate fudge cake or something close to it. I called several weeks ahead and was lucky because my order was the last they were accepting for that week, even though her b-day was a few weeks away. In other words, do not delay! They were fantastic to work with. My advice is tell them the general idea of what you want...in my case a chocolate fudge cake.... and then let them do their thing as far as decorating! My daughter's birthday was made because of this extra special cake. They did an amazing job with the presentation!!!! It did cost more than a normal b-day cake (I just did a 6" round) but the money could not have been better spent! They delivered it to her dorm with no problems. Thank you Something Blue Bakery for making my daughter's first birthday away from home so special! You will be hearing from me for the next three years! Well done!

My friend and I pop in from time to time for a cookie or cupcake. Everything is always fresh and delicious! It is a treat to see her new designs on display in the shop. The owner is a talented artist as much as she is an accomplished baker! The Lafayette area is lucky to have this fabulous cake shop and it's a bonus for me that she is located downtown so I can indulge when I take a break from work! The owner is delightful and very friendly!

Mackenzie is such an incredible artist!! I couldn't believe the magic she put into our wedding cake! On top of it being absolutely stunning, and exactly what we asked for, it was delicious. Her cinnamon cake with maple frosting is worth our 2 hour drive to her storefront. I recommend Mackenzie at Something Blue to everyone I know! Thank you Mackenzie for our scrumptiously moist and visually stunning cake.
