Southern Indiana Home Inspections

The initial phone call with Scott assured me of their expertise in VA inspections and I was told that the required termite inspection would be part of the process. As a result I cancelled the separate termite inspection. They arrived on time and told my husband that he didn't need to remain as long as one of us would be at the property at the end of the inspection. I was, and they went through their findings advising that the termite inspection found no evidence of issues. Fast forward several weeks and we have a closing date in 5 days, only to find from Veterans United that there was no termite inspection on the pole barn or gazebo which are part of the property. In order to close this needed to be completed tomorrow, and Veterans United agreed to pay any additional cost. I called to request this to be done and what the cost would be and was told Southern Indiana Home Inspections would not do it, even for an additional cost. Scott told me it wasn't part of their service, and that they only do home inspections and I should contact a pest control company. I expressed my disbelief and frustration and stated that I would be telling others about the experience and the difficulty their refusal was causing me. Later I received a call from Faron, the owner to explain that the additional structures were not part of their contract and we should have known from it that the other structures weren't included. Problem is that there was no contract. The only documentation was the inspection report and invoice, which was paid. So, we are required to try to find a termite inspector on very short notice to have the additional structures inspected and tough luck to us. Very poor customer service, and lack of concern. Poor recommendation to everyone on this company.

My wife and I hired Southern Indiana Home Inspections to perform an inspection for a home we were buying. They were prompt, professional, courteous, and above all, thorough. They came up with a HUGE list of issues that I would never have noticed on my own. I am a first-time buyer, so this process was very intimidating to me. The inspector walked me through all of the photos he took and answered all of my questions on the day of the inspection, offering his opinion about the correct fix, and I received the 80-page report the very next day. All issues were coded by whether they needed immediate correction or were issues to keep an eye on in the future. I will refer back to this report while conducting home maintenance to be sure I am staying on top of the issues they noticed. I will hire Southern Indiana Home Inspections for my next home purchase, and I would absolutely recommend them to a friend.

Southern Indiana Home Inspections. They would have scored a solid five if not for the lack of customer courtesy and respect. We wanted to use a local business so we contacted them to request a quote and availability for a home inspection in conjunction with a home purchase. We explained up front our time constraints and compressed schedule with closing date. They were accommodating and responded with a reasonable date to conduct the inspection. The Technician was prompt and efficient to complete the inspection. The Tech walked us through an "example report" to describe the format of the "inspection template" used with each home inspection. They asked for payment up front to the report being written, We complied. Four days had passed and we called for an update. The receptionist who took the call was not accommodating and said "You are lucky this will be filed as quick as it is as we don't work weekends and holidays and may have been in our queue for another day or two!" If that would have been said up front during the quote we would have not chosen them. We have used other home inspections that provided same detail of report with in 24 hours of the inspection being completed. Just a lessoned learned, if you choose them, be sure to get the date the report will be completed prior to payment. Be warned if the inspection is a Wed, Thu, or Fri... because you may be waiting for a bit for them to complete their part of the transaction as they "don't work weekends or holidays".

Great service, I kind of had a special request and they were able to help me out! They were prompt, great pricing and very professional! If I every need an inspection service again , I'll be going back to these guys!!!

SIHI was able to schedule me the next week to inspect a home I was purchasing. They arrived on time were unperturbed by the down pour that started when they had to go outside and get into the crawl space. They completed the roof and exterior inspection before the rain started. They took their time to explain the report and answer questions after the inspection. The report was delivered the next day as promised with photos of the property from the inspection. Very please and would use again.
