Southpointe Christian Church

I was raised a Catholic at a young age however, I stopped going to Catholic Church because of negative responses I felt in the Catholic Church. I have since changed my house of GOD to the Christian Church. SOUTH POINT CHRISTIAN CHURCH. I have never felt more comfortable in a church of God like I do at South Point Christian Church. I no longer fear the paritioners who attend South Point, being judged because of my hair color or cut, clothing, size etc. I say this because when I was attending a Catholic Church in Cranston, Saint Pauls, I over heard two female catholic paritioners whispering terrible things about another woman in church, who they felt should be ashamed of herself for going to church with the awful looking cloths she was wearing. I was beside myself and thought immediately...WHAT HAPPENED TO BEING BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD. IF SOMEONE HAS LESS AND NOT AS FORTUNATE AS YOU, DO NOT CRITICIZE RATHER LEND A HAND WE HAVE ONE JUDGE (GOD) A GOOD CHRISTIAN NEVER CRITICIZES. I have personally experienced many examples of poor Christianity in the Catholic Church. ANOTHER EXAMPLE: I had not been to church in a while, as a family member needed me to help them. When I returned to church, I was touched by God and felt so close to the holy spirit. I had never felt this before. The only way I can describe it is, I felt like I was being hugged by Jesus! I broke down during service several times overwhelmed with such a wonderful warm feeling that I had just been welcomed back to the church by Christ himself. I wanted to share what just happened to me after service. I was on my way out the front doors of church waiting my turn to share my experience with the priest that had preformed service. I was so happy and excited that I attempted to hug the priest and tell him my experience...as I was bringing my arms up to hug him, he pushed my arms away and said don't touch me! I really don't know how to put this into words, the empty sadness I felt inside when he did that. It effected me for weeks. I was very confused and kept trying to figure out what these two messages meant. A true feeling of the holy spirit and the feeling of rejection from the priest. I did not want to return to this Catholic Church for a couple of weeks. After nights of constantly trying to make some kind of sence of the priests behavior. FInally after many hours of praying, talking with Jesus, I decided I would not return to this Catholic Church ever again. I had not entered a house of GOD for many years due to this sad experience. Many years later I received a post card invitation from a new church in town. What caught my eye was this invitation said... (( IF YOU HAVE GIVEN UP ON THE CHURCH BUT NOT GIVEN UP ON GOD, THEN WE MAY HAVE WHAT YOU'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!!! Well I put this post card on kitchen counter and thought, maybe I'll try it out. Two weeks went by and I received another post card, same Church. Threw this post card on the counter where I placed the first one. I kept thinking about that post card every day. One more week went by and guess what ? Yes, you guessed it, i received another post card, only this one was not addressed to me? It was addressed to a neighbor down the end of my street!!! At this point I began to smile and thought to myself...ok this is the third post card, I threw my hands up in the air, looked up into the sky and said ((( OK OK I'LL TRY IT )))!!! I TRULY FELT THAT LAST POST CARD WAS A MESSAGE FROM GOD! NEEDLESS TO SAY MY FIRST VISIT TO THIS CHURCH WAS SO WONDERFUL THAT IVE BEEN A MEMBER OF THIS CHURCH EVER SINGE, I BELIEVE THAT WAS 2012 AND HAVE ATTENDED EVERY WEEK FAITHFULLY. THIS CHURCH IS ( SOUTH POINT CHRISTIAN CHURCH ) WITH PASTOR TANNER. I KNEW I WAS IN THE RIGHT PLACE. THE MOMENT I WALKED IN, I WAS IN AWE WITH THE KINDEST PEOPLE I HAVE EVER MET IN A CHURCH! I WAS HOOKED IMMEDIENTLY. I am presently not able to attend church as much as I was able to in the begining due to my employment respondsilibilites however, I do attend every opportunity I get.
