Awesome stylists. They do a great job. My hair feels and looks absolutely fabulous which in turn makes me feel great. They are on point when it comes to delivering the style you requested. I have been going to them for quite some time and have never left not satisfied with the job they performed. I highly recommend them

Soween’s service was one of the best I’ve had in New York. Although we had to push our start time by an hour, my hair was meticulously parted, tucked and braided nearly despite the short length of natural hair. The braided are polite, the salon is clean and air conditioned, and I think the service is incredibly well priced especially for New York, and the quality of my hair. Just got my braids done and I LOVE THEM! Soween and her staff are very nice and very welcoming. The salon is so clean. and that means so much to me! It is clean and they are constantly cleaning areas after each customer. I will be going back! Requested style: Mix of warm brown and blondes

I went here for the first time and got long medium knotless and love them! Soween braided my hair so fast and was so kind. We even took a 5 minute stretch break which I appreciated. I'm also tender headed and it did not hurt at all, very gently. She's also very very kind and the studio is so nice! Definitely will be coming back!ServicesBox braids

The owner of the shop tried to gaslight me to think this is the hairstyle I want whole time it was not, I have a right to be upset because I’m paying for it. She’s very rude and unprofessional it’s actually sad and she’s getting too big headed. DONT COME HERE

Found this spot the day of and was able to get my hair done as a walk-in. Had the most pleasant experience! The store is clean, the service was quick and everyone was professional and kind. I highly recommend!

Believe me when I say I NEVER leave reviews especially negative ones unless I feel it’s necessary. I’ve been coming to this salon for YEARS. I braid hair myself but when I don’t feel like doing mine SOWEEN is the only one I trust. Her work is exquisite and I don’t play about my braids age gets it done precisely how I need each time. I ALWAYS make sure I tip her EXTRA every single time. I don’t care if I just go in for her to fix something or finish something IM TIPPING HER PERIOD. Today I called her personal number at opening time and asked if SHE was available for some freestyle feed in braids that she’s done for me several times I said that. She said yes I’ll call you when I get to the shop. She called and said get here in 30 mins. I got there in 40. Walked in to her braiding someone’s hair and just overall weird energy. She then was about to pass me off to another stylist and I said I wanted YOU specifically. She rudely said I’m not available. I said I called you we just spoke…she told me this lady is good she can do it. Then she told me to show her the style. As I’m showing her I’m telling her I wanted her because we collaborate on the freestyle and she was acting like she didn’t hear me until I said “ do you understand what I’m saying I wanted YOU to do it. She said well I’m not available you know how I work. I was at a lost for words. I didn’t even know what she meant. She then said come back in an hr I have to finish this. Mind you, I traveled to get there I’m not down the block, there’s also a couch in there & she didn’t ask me to wait. I just walked out and & not only offended but I was hurt. This was my FAVORITE spot but I’m very big on respect and knowing my worth. I may have experienced slight rudeness from her in the past but this was over the top and took me aback therefore I will not give her my money anymore. She does not appreciate her loyal customers. I would rather do it myself. I had to add to this based on the response which was just not true. I’m a respectful person and I did not demand to be seated what I expressed was my confusion because I had just spoke to her on the phone and asked if she was available. She’s the only one who does my hair. She told me to come in and when I got there she was trying to send me to another stylist while I was expressing that I wanted her & that we just spoke. She knows she’s the only one I wanted to touch my head. I had NO problem waiting but I was not asked to wait I was told to come back in and hr, again I traveled mind you there was nobody in there and I was already sitting on the couch. I absolutely did not slam the door I just walked out. There was never any disrespectful behavior displayed here just to be clear. She called me back several times to come back later on but I had already went back home because I had nowhere to go. Why would she call me back if I was so disrespectful?

Second time at this saloon and will be back! Staff is always nice and accommodating and I always leave fresh and confident.

I’ve come to Soween’s salon many times over the years and am always happy with my hair and experience. Soween has an excellent eye, and always insists that every style is executed with the highest standard. She keeps an eye on all of her braiders to ensure quality control. In addition, the salon is clean, quiet, and relaxed, something you do not get at every braiding salon. They are always punctual and work quickly. I’ve been to many other braiding spots and Soween’s is my favorite. I can recommend it without hesitation. If you are looking to get your hair braided and want to feel sure that your hair will look good and, even more importantly, will look like what you asked for go here. Thank you again!
