Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology

The staff is a joke. The instructors are lazy, spend more time bullshitting on their cellphones and watching youtube than actually teaching. Most of them don't actually know what they're supposed to be teaching. The financial aid office will harass you until they have everything they need to get the director off their back, the equipment is stupidly overpriced and cheaply made. The entirety of the faculty is extremely sexist, the instructors go out of their way to call out females as if they're so rare they HAVE to be acknowledged. The facilities are in disrepair and most of the bathrooms are too disgusting to use. If you want to ride on the beaten-dead horse that is this sham of a school's once good name.. by all means waste your money here.

Don’t go there !!!! First-ever College I have ever been to where they take 100% of your student loan and you cannot afford the basic necessities to survive in life and the dorms are not included in the loan also some teachers are not very good at their job because they’re not real teachers there just factory workers .The school looks like a Third World country tore to pieces and the bathrooms with no ventilation smells like death,you walk out with the smell still on your clothes if you are being harassed by other students the president of the school would tell you to confront them yourself and the staff will come out with insane excuses to call you into the office for example they claimed I was an alien from outer space ,to them that was a good cause to call me into the office With a armed guard behind me. The school does not care about the students at all the only thing they care about is 100% profits !! they invest no money back into their schools!!! and on top of that where the dorms are located Is in a very bad neighborhood where I was attacked viciously just walking up the street !!!!! I made decent grades and was always on time but the school will find a way to attack people of color any chance they get Also I have documentation and over 100 pictures to back up all these claims

If you are passionate, determined and have a love for Aviation this is the school for you! The Staff are super supportive, kind and will help you succeed to the best of your ability. To be fair yes it has its flaws just like any other college. If you don’t take your training seriously and you flunk or do not study hard. You will struggle guaranteed. This is a College that wants your very best and if you are not prepared to give your very best or at least make any effort too. Don’t waste your time even applying. I thank Spartan for making me a better pilot everyday and for believing in all their students. Proud to be a Spartan!

The equipment is insanely priced, the majority of the teachers are mediocre, I would not recommend it to new comers because it is not worth the risk. You will not learn that much in some of your classes because some instructors simply rely fully on you to teach yourself. I do have to say the financial aid and career service people are helpful though.

***ATTENTION POTENTIAL FLIGHT SCHOOL STUDENTS*** DO NOT BE FOOLED BY ALL OF THESE CANNED "POSITIVE RATINGS" I graduated from Spartan and worked as a flight instructor at Spartan for a few years thereafter. I now have a job as an airline pilot. Would I recommend Spartan College to aspiring pilots? $%&^# NO!!! I got my job -despite- placing Spartan on my resume. For all the money you spend there, you can spend the same and go to a REAL university with REAL accreditation (Spartan's comes and goes) and come out with a Bachelor's Diploma worth more than the paper it's printed on. Two other major universities in Oklahoma not only give you a four-year degree for the same price, but also have FAA examining authority as Part 141 schools. As of 2012, Spartan did NOT, meaning their FAA Checkride pass rates SUCK. Spartan charges very high rates while providing very poor services to students and paying their instructors pennies on the dollar. If you're in Oklahoma I would recommend the University of Oklahoma or Oklahoma State University - even if you are not and you plan on moving across the country to go to Spartan... you would still be better off going to one of those schools instead. TRUST EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS!! I EMPLORE YOU! RESEARCH!! Their gen-ed teachers are whackjobs too! I lost all faith in the school when I realized that almost every teacher tended to hand out all the answers to their tests before administering them! Not only that, even in those gen ed classes, they claimed that the FAA requires X number of hours in class, and will either force you to stay after to make up for any lost time FOR AN OUTRAGEOUS FEE, or they will make you retake a class! One guy in my class came back from using the bathroom (in the middle of class, his words) and the teacher told him that he had just timed out - meaning he would have to RETAKE THE ENTIRE CLASS. What a joke!! $$$$!! And most importantly, do not be taken in by their marketing department!! They tell so many half-truths about the school.
