St. Petersburg Library - Mirror Lake Community Library

Every library in Pinellas is spot-on, however this one happens to be the oldest and has its rich history and charm. What I like most is just how perfectly silent it is.

The library is small, but nice. It's in a cool historic building and generally has ample parking. The size makes it a little bit hard to find an individual table to work at. On the last day I was there there was a little jawing between a guy and the librarian that made me nervous for the librarians safety, but I don't expect this is a regular occurrence. Due to its size, and limited study locations, I would say this is a short stop library rather than a full day experience.

This is a beautiful little historical building in a great location right on Mirror Lake. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only downside is that most of the seats and computers are taken by the local homeless people. They don't usually bother anyone but it would be nice if I could have access to the tables and chairs and read or check emails on my own computer. Maybe they could add more chairs somewhere.

Nice library and staff, but a lot of unfortunate people in the facility.

I stopped going to the library years ago because I am very irresponsible with my books and I never return them. I normally get the max fine and have to pay to replace the book which is way more expensive than going on Amazon and just buying a paper back. I own a printer but it seems that every time I need to print, I am out of ink and refuse to buy more. I was able to print my document with much fuss. I was able to sign up for a library card also and since then, I have become a regular. I mostly visit to have a quiet place to study and work. There is also a nice conference room where some groups have meetings. The library system has a nice digital book selection. Its the best thing ever. You can download an ebook on your device and when its due, you can extend it or if you are irresponsible and forget, it just becomes unavailable to you. No fines. There is plenty of free parking and the librarians are all very helpful and friendly even when you ask stupid questions.
