I am excited with Sunrun through Costco. My sales rep was very knowledgeable and helped educate me on what product was best for me. She was good at explaining the process and how solar worked. She gave great timelines and was always available if I had any questions at any point in my project. The install of panels and battery went smooth and I started noticing savings on my Edison bill immediately. Over all great experience.
I would NOT recommend this company. They assumed my fence was the boundary for my property and configured the setup as such. This would have blocked my back gate. When I told the subcontractor this wasn't acceptable, I was told to move my gate. Were they going to pay for it? I think not. They also argued with me about my boundary lines and It took Sunrun weeks to get a new set of plans done. It then took them weeks to get the trenching done and put up the ground mounts. After that was done it has taken a few weeks to get the panel install set up. I'm not even half way through this project. Is it going to take several more weeks to get it up and running? TIME will tell. Meanwhile, my power bill will continue to get higher as the weather gets hotter. said that the County wouldn't know where the boundary is. What?
Have to admit we are extremely pleased with the whole idea with getting solar! As you can see we had a pretty good size system installed 38 lg345 watt panels with Battery. The fact we are producing more than we actually need is a great feeling. Having the added battery storage as well makes it even sweeter! Yes Solar is not for everyone and I highly recommend getting a min of 3 proposals and see which one is your best route, while almost all the equipment may be the same or similar in warranty and such. Overall from start to finish we were kept in the loop 100%, installers arrived on time were polite and left zero trace of them being there well except for all the installed equipment! If your thinking of solar before you call anyone do your own research on what it is you want from solar etc. And understand its limits and practical uses!
I do not make it a practice to write bad reviews, but I am pretty frustrated with this company! Communication from installation, maintenance and customer service departments have been horrific! Three times their workers have showed up unannounced when we have asked them to note on our account that we have large dogs which must be contained for their safety. Earlier this week they called when they were on their way with no previous communication and we had to cancel their visit due to no one being at home to contain the dogs. The service tech was unable to reschedule the maintenance visit today when I reached out via telephone to the local office I was transferred to the Philippines and it took 39 minutes to reschedule the appointment. I am praying we will see the benefits of going with their solar panels soon.
My Sales Rep Guido Gallardo, was very helpful in answering all my questions and very patient with us not a typical sales pushing rep because we decided to look for other quotes. After comparing prices and warranties we decided to give him a call and he come back to our house and make the whole process very simple, the system got installed very professionally and did clean job. I can't be more happy and more excited to not have another high electrical bill.
Very dishonest company. Please do your research before choosing to do business with Sun Run. Do some research on the lawsuit against them for all their deceitfulness. Look at how many complaints they have against them with the BBB. I chose to expand my solar system and signed an agreement with them. After the agreement was signed and the solar panels were scheduled for installation, they called me and said that all of a sudden my electrical panel needed to be completely replaced. The site surveyer had already came out, inspected my house, and cleared everything. He told me I was good to go... I already have solar panels that are currently running on my electrical panel. The solar panels were set to be installed until I was called and told some engineer decided I needed a new electrical panel even though their site inspector cleared it before hand. This was going to add another $5000 dollars and I could not get the solar panels installed without paying for the $5000 electrical panel replacement. I hope they will contact me and do the right thing but after doing my research I'm not holding my breath. I hope this review saves people from getting taken advantage of. Thanks for reading.
Really bummed with Sunrun. They were sold to us as the longest running most reliable solar company in California. After having inspected our roof, signing a contract, drafting plans, getting approval from HOA, and replacing our asphalt shingle roof we were ready for installation of the solar. It turns out that Sunrun is just an umbrella company contracting other companies to do the work. After several failed attempts to get a contractor on site due to miscommunication by Sunrun. We had contractors show up only to say that our roof was too high, and they would not be able to do the installation. The next day Sunrun said they were terminating our contract due to site conditions. This was despite the fact that we had pointed out the height of our roof to the initial inspectors. We wasted a lot of time with Sun Run and hope to save others the hassle.
We spoke with a Sunrun Rep, named Crystal, very friendly and helpful. We agreed on a plan with Sunrun and signed their contract. It's been a few months and the company's follow through has been less than impressive. One of their subcontractors showed up to repair a few items in the attic unannounced. This is the second time workers were showing up at my home without notification. I am having second thoughts about going with this company to install on my home. I appears they are good on the front end with getting you to sign with them, then lack in follow through and customer service and communication. Not a good look for a company sponsored by Costco.
Sunrun has been great! I am on my second solar system and never had any issues. I recently had to sell my house and was nervous about the process to transfer my power purchase agreement over to the new owner. My nerves were put at ease when I learned there is a whole department that handles the transaction for me. All I had to do was given them a call and they took care of the rest. The app is great way for me to self monitor my system and make me aware if something is not working as planned. The customer service team is always fast acting! I have recommend Sunrun to all my friends and family.
Had a Energy Consultant Jacob approach my house. He worked for a smaller solar company named Rise Energy that is working with SunRun. Google "energy consultant, SunRun, indeed" and you'll find out right away it's a door-to-door sales position. He was in a haste to schedule a "report" appointment with the homeowners. The homeowners have declined to solar, but the consultant claimed to be working with PG&E. The report was to see if the house qualified for a government program which included free installment. California does not offer any assistance in 100% free installment btw. I asked if he could verify SunRun's involvement with PG&E and the government, but he didn't know how he could obtain these verifications for the homeowners. Consultant didn't know what government program SunRun was involved in specifically. He still insisted that he needed to setup an appointment, so that someone else from the company could meet with the homeowners. This was to happen within the next few days even though he could not provide answers about PG&E, or government program. He was declined for any future contact or appointments. Honestly, the Energy Consultant seemed like he truly believed in the company's mission of providing a cheaper energy alternative, and he wanted to follow through with the "report" to do his job accordingly. Dude was afraid of answering to his manager. However, the companies way of initiating these reports through door-to-door sales are garbage. The homeowners felt harassed. The company had little leeway in terms of rescheduling the report appointment. Energy Consultants are not knowledgeable about the government program they claim to be a part of, and said this information was not given to them. Strange because if the company is a part of a government program, shouldn't it be obvious? Avoid!
