Came in for a quick bite - we were seated fast and order was taken in a timely manner. Food came out fast too. We ordered 5 rolls - good quality fish but the rice was a little too sticky and even though the amount of fish in the rolls was generous, the rolls had too much rice. Our server was very attentive and very polite. The place is a little worn down but very clean. The plate that our rolls were served on was also in need of update. Overall, good place for a quick and affordable bite.
I do feel sorry for people eating at this restaurant who think this Sushi is great. I think they will lose their mind once they try our sushi from literally anywhere else. They are serving very basic, overpriced stale sushi. I do not live close by and I feel lucky because the thought of this being my go to sushi place would scare the bejesus out of me. P.S. - A word of advice for management - In this modern day and age, please assume that your patrons have travelled the world and they recognize good food from bad. Either you are slacking with quality control or just serving average food, both of which are not good in the long run.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. How does this place have over 4 stars? Pop quiz. What does sushi mean? Ding ding it means sour or vinegared rice. What do you think was on my maki roll? Rice. Not the same thing. I ordered a yellowtail and scallion maki roll and a vegetable tempura dinner. This should not be risky. The tempura dinner came with rice and the side by side comparison said they were the same. Without the brightness that comes from sushi rice, a maki roll tastes wrong, sad and for my synesthete friends, muddy greyish brown. I do not recommend. The vegetable tempura was similarly bad. Buying a $16 plate of fried veggies should get you some veggies. What I got was 1 asparagus sprig, 1 broccoli floret, 1 onion ring, 2 cuts of eggplant, and 4 fat cuts of yam. I understand that at a restaurant you pay for the service and dining experience, but that's like buying a bag of mixed nuts and getting 1 almond in a bag of peanuts. Adding insult to injury, it wasn't even very good. The batter wasn't crispy and soggily fell off of my onion ring as I tried to eat it, and the 3/8 inch thick cuts of yam were too much for the batter to make any impact. Might as well just eat a baked yam. If that was just an off night, then it was a waaay off night.
Had a wonderful lunch on a Saturday! Fast service and the food was wonderful and very tasty. The servers were very attentive and the experience was overall outstanding. For me there was an underlying smell I couldn’t quite put my finger on. It was not pleasant but also wasn’t so bad that I couldn’t stay and enjoy my lunch.Food: 5/5
Delicious food + price is reasonable The service is friendly and attentive Overall, we had a great experience!Food: 5/5
Popped in for a quick bite to eat. The dining area was simple but nice. Easy to place an order. They provide you with a sheet to select the type and quantity of sushi you would like. The best part is the food tasted great. Definitely would go back.Food: 5/5
Food was amazing. The portions were really good and the staff were fast.Food: 5/5
Great Sushi, a short walk from the White House. The green tea has a delicious roasted rice flavor.Food: 5/5
We came here for dinner on a very cold night bc it was fairly close to the Sofitel. Actually I was navigating to another restaurant but passed this one and decided what the heck , it looks busy, menu/prices are decent and google said it was decent. It was fine - we both got beef bento boxes - the meat was a bit tough but it was a LOT of food. Quality was decent. Our included California roll was fresh and tasty and service was prompt and friendly. And mostly importantly, it was nice and toasty inside lol
Our maki sushi had way too much rice compared to the inside ingredients. The fish was fresh but was overpriced due to rice to the ingredient ratio. Also, my friend tried a noodle dish that wasn't marked as spicy, but was so spicy she couldn't eat it. They kindly let her change her food. The staff was wonderful, but we'll choose somewhere else for sushi.
