I was looking for a new sushi spot and saw this had great reviews. I ordered take out and got the Crunchy Shrimp Roll$6.95 and the Boston Roll$5.95. They were delicious! The pick up process was super easy and the staff was very nice. I recommend you give them a try!
I'm writing this review in real-time for full disclosure. We were greeted and seated immediately by friendly staff. The ambiance is lack luster but im here for the food so I don't care. Its clean and thats what is important. We started with an appetizer which was fried calamari and I have to say, I'm very disappointed. The breading is good and the crunch is great but, the actual octopus is rubbery and tough. I do not recommend. Cocktail wise though, I ordered the Blue ninja and it's amazing! Raste is almost like the blue part of a rocket pop. The boyfriend ordered a saki martini and it's as a proper a martini should be. Next what we all want to know, the sushi rolls....we have the Spicy tuna roll, the spicy Salmon roll, the Columbus roll, and lastly the Dancing tuna roll. Spicy tuna and salmon were good in flavor but lacking in quality. They were not fully wrapped in sushi rice, however, I would eat these again with a 7 out of 10. Dancing tuna roll had great texture and flavor so I'd give this an 8 out of 10. But the winner is the Columbus roll with a 9 1/2 out of 10! All in all I would give the experience an 8 out of 10 would eat here again!
THEY NO LONGER DO ALL YOU CAN EAT!! BEWARE! 9/22/22 we were visiting from out of town came around noon time there was 1 other table besides us that was there before us. Service was terribly slow , it took waitress at least 5 minutes to bring us water and menus. Once we put our order in , took 30+ minutes for our sushi to come out. Looks are very deceiving everything looked really good but almost everything was still frozen in the middle . The only thing that was edible was the two rolls dragon & rainbow . We order separately scallop sashimi legit came out still frozen not thaw yet. Just be aware if you want “food court” quality fish.
**NO LONGER ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI** We are visiting Columbus from North Carolina and came to Sushi Time for the lunch AYCE sushi at around 12pm, and was told they got rid of it. Me and my husband weren’t prepared to get anything else, so it took us a minute to look at the menu. Although it was upsetting that they got rid of the all you can eat, we didn’t make a fuss about it, yet the waitress got visually irritated at us for taking a while to figure out what we wanted. I also want to mention we were the ONLY people sitting down to eat. We ordered the Buckeye Roll, my husband got the chicken fried rice, and I got the beef udon. The only thing I was happy about was the food. It was delicious. The buckeye roll was AMAZING!!!! Unfortunately, we never got our miso soup that was I believe was supposed to come with our meals, but we didn’t say anything because we were just ready to leave. And to finish it off, while we were eating we heard a gentleman in the back hacking up something which was a wonderful addition to our meal!
Probably my favorite sushi place in Columbus. Never busy when I'm in there usually a bad sign but they get a lot of take out orders. The picture was taken after I ate like 5 pieces of sushi so the phone did not eat first! Great taste. Also had the "blue ninja" sake drink which is really good. The special rolls come with 8/10 pieces and he normal rolls come with 5/6 pieces. Good bang for your buck.
I’ve been here once before, but before the pandemic. While the sushi was not super fresh, it was fine for the $22 all you can eat. It seems they are no longer doing this deal. Instead I got a Caribbean roll, and did a sushi and sashimi lunch deal. The deal itself isn’t bad cost wise and comparable to a lot of other sushi lunch specials, but this time I was actually concerned about the quality of the fish I was eating. This wasn’t just poor quality/ low flavor, there was something off about it. The shrimp also had a very odd texture. The Caribbean roll did have good flavor, but if there was something odd about the fish it would be easy to cover with the flavors in this roll. I will say the miso soup did have good flavor, which I can’t say for every sushi place I have been to. Overall I am disappointed. I have eaten a lot of sushi and I have my locations I go to for Amazing But high cost sushi, as well as lower quality/cheaper, but still a good meal sushi. This unfortunately will not go into my rotation for a cheap sushi lunch.
First time there, took my daughter for lunch. at 1 pm on a Wednesday we were the only customers in the place, and we never saw another person walk in during our lunch. That should have been my first clue. Service was a bit slow and unfriendly. We both had water to drink and there were like 3-4 ice cubes in each glass, had to ask for more ice and you would have thought we were asking for winning lottery numbers. My daughter doesn't eat meat, so she got an avocado and cucumber roll. She said it was good. I had their lunch 2-roll special, spicy tuna and spicy salmon, and it came with miso soup. The soup had too much bonito flakes it in, tasted too fishy. The spicy tuna was average, the spicy salmon tasted "off", and I didn't finish it. I'd rank what we had up there with Giant Eagle in terms of quality. Needless to say, I won't be going back.
The only reason why this is a two star and not a one, is because their prices are admittedly very competitive, for the quantity of sushi you get. I used to not be picky about the quality, but after getting sicksee below, i'm beginning to question how they keep their prices so low compared to the other places in the area. The service is also terrible, but i'll the other google reviews cover that for me. I used to love this place when they can have All You Can Eat a few years ago, which is no longer available. The quality was average esp the tuna but it didn't seem unsafe. Unfortunately it seems both quality and price have gotten worse in the last few years. Thats okay right? No. Because the quality of the sushi is objectively subpar to other options in Columbus. This is what made the AYCE appealing. The sushi cannot be that bad right? No, because I have gotten diarrhea after eating here which has lead to me writing this review. I am also not alone, as I have friends who used to eat here have had the same issue. I have eaten at most sushi places in Columbus, and even the American ones like Fusion haven't made me sick. I will say I've had been here before with no issues when they had AYCE, so your experience may vary than my last visit. Tread carefully.
Sushi is good and fairly priced. The wait staff is very friendly. There are a lot of options on the menu. Service is slow so if you're in a rush this probably isn't the place to stop. If you have some extra time though I would highly recommend it!
Yummy.....what happened to all the previous review? Anyway this place have the best sushi rice. Since they only have one sushi chef, they are a bit slow but it is worth the wait. I come here once a week...the addiction is real.
