Visiting Columbia and ate here for the first time. Omg Sichuan style food here is terrible. Order grill fish and everything was sour and the fish is so dry. I love eating brown sugar rice cake. Somehow they managed to screw that up for me also. It has a hard outer shell. We couldn’t eat it anymore and brought the issue with the server. Instead of getting a manager to handle the issue, the server start the be defensive stating they sold a lot of grill fish everyday. We were in no mood of arguing and order 2 dessert so we can go home. And desserts are not edible. The rice wine rice ball taste stale with hardly any sweetness. If you want good food, go to Flushing!
Wow this place is actually really good! Thought it could be american chinesey from the stock pictures, but the other pics looked promising. The fish was absolutely delicious. Kong xin cai was fresh. Only negative was that the dry pot was a bit salty. I would totally come back. Great food in the UWS!Food: 5/5
I ordered a “Homestyle Tofu w/ Sliced Pork” and fried rice on the side. The entree had a small cockroach, and no sliced pork was in the dish neither. Not a clean place, would not recommend.Food: 1/5
Update: Yesterday, I had lunch here and had a great experience. I ordered the Fish Fillet in Black Bean Sauce as well as the Hot and sour soup. It was a wonderful value at $12.95! I can’t wait to go back. I have been to Szechuan Garden many times for lunch and dinner. I always enjoy eating here - the value is great, the taste is delicious, and the service is quick. Most recently, I ordered the Hot and Sour soup and the Lightly Stir-Fried Cabbage for dinner. The Hot and Sour soup was flavorful and spicy. It’s one of the best Hot and Sour soups I’ve ever had! And the Lightly Stir-Fried Cabbage was so good! The cabbage was tender, and the flavor was fantastic. The portion was quite large, but I finished everything very quickly. : I highly recommend Szechuan Garden!
They messed up my order. They also have two different pricing on delivery and dine in. They can’t do take out on any delivery app so I have to pick up myself in heat. We exchanged pick up number, and I asked the lady at the front desk you sure this is my order a few time. She seems irritated and then I went on subway and get back. Surprise surprise, my order was wrong and their food taste awful. Next time just go to flushing or China town because this one is awful
Yummy and authentic. What more can I ask for. Perfect spot for a cold day with friends, family or your partner. Nice and calm atmosphere with great service. Thanks for having me. In pics: Spicy fish fillet, spicy fried pork and beef tripe appetizer.Food: 5/5
This restaurant provides authentic and absolutely amazing Chinese cuisine, the spicy chicken and sour fish are very very good, much better than what I have eaten in other sichuan restaurants.Food: 5/5
Great food! Huge portion and flavorful. The staff was attentive. Was there on Monday afternoon by myself and had plenty to take home. Will come back if I crave for Szechuan foodFood: 5/5
If you like good Szechuan, this is the place. The menu is vast and eclectic. I enjoy hot spicy food. Searching the menu I found "griddled shrimp" that's it, no other description. This poc from the post is what I got and I can't stop thinking about the next time. It wasn't the normal heat, it made my mouth tingle not on fire like other things do. When I told the waitresses how I felt about the meal she said that any protein can be substituted for the shrimp. It was one of the best things I've eaten.
Avoid this restaurant particularly if you have allergies. I thought we had finally found a Chinese restaurant to replace our favorite that moved out of the neighborhood. For a period of time this place was good for the basics, but something has happened recently. Twice now our food was contaminated with peanuts despite informing the restaurant and double checking that dishes we ordered do not contain nuts. Thankfully, my kids are not anaphylactic, but they still spent several hours vomiting. It was horrible. There is no excuse for this kind of sloppiness and disregard for serious allergies. We are searching again for a new local option.
