This place is a weird spot…. I pulled my back out and was in desperate need. As I walked in, there was a couple of young men sleeping in lounge chairs and no one near the front desk. I waited for 10 minutes for someone to greet me. Once I was greeted this lady screamed at one of the young boy/man to get up. He brought me to the treatment room and stared at me while I was undressing. I was really hoping for a female since I booked in advance for a 90 minute message with a female. But I was in desperate need. He told me to lay down and I asked where is the hole/area for my face. He replied there is none. The message started and within 10 seconds I could tell this young man had no idea what he was doing. He place about a half gallon of oil on my back while squishing my face into the table, not really massaging. After about 2 minutes the lady from the front desk told him to turn me around and cut a hole in the Peice of paper where my Legs where placed. Then they started screaming at each other and at this point I decided, I AM DONE. I have enjoyed this place a couple times Before but after this experience I will never go back. Big waste of time just had to shower to get all the oil off. I guess you get what you Pay for- VERY SAD
Awful, awful experience. To start, if you call to make an appt in advance, they say to call back day of. That’s kind of strange? Regardless, I call day of Saturday morning and they say to come in sometime in the afternoon around 2pm. Another reviewer has mentioned that they don’t speak good English, so the language barrier is understandable. I come in and they try to say that a 70 min massage is $70, but I tell them that I saw online that it’s $55 for 70 min. The front desk lady says no, so I had to show them the online price, which they start speaking in Chinese for a long time about. I’d presume they are upset that this promotion is still on their website. Fast forward to the massage and the masseuse has spent probably 35 min on just my back, which after awhile starts to kind of hurt. I ask if we are doing a full body, for which there is confusion. Eventually, she moves to the rest, but it’s probably the worst massage I’ve had. When I go up to pay, the front desk lady tells me that it’s $55 for cash, but $59 for card. It doesn’t say anything about that on the online promotions, but sure. She asks if I want to tip and I say $10 since it wasn’t a great massage, which I expressed to the masseuse. She then tells me that I have to tip 20% on the full amount, which is $75. I tell her that the massage was not great, I would like to tip $10. She says no, I have to tip $15. I couldn’t believe that she was telling me what I had to tip, that is so unprofessional. You would think that she would be concerned about the feedback considering that the place was empty on a Saturday afternoon. Avoid this place at all costs!!!!!
I always come here for massages. Which are normally pretty good. But the place is def not a Lux spot. Just a quick massage. They always try to force more than 20% for their tip- and they cut it short a lot of the times. If you ask for an hour you’re done in 55. So I always tip 17% and they always ask for more money. My service was $55 and the massage was cut short and I gave $12 tip.. and it wasn’t a good massage- this girl was newer and she goes “15. $15” like NO! Rude! She said the service is $75 but I got a deal- 20% of 75 is 14.50- and 20% tips go to people that do it really good and her massage wasn’t! And she cut it 10 minutes short. Not cool… and then they speak in another language when you disagree with them. I’m going to stop going there. But when I do go there and get my girl- I always tip her good… because it’s a good massage.
If I can give this business a negative star, I would! I used to get massages at this place years ago. It's been 2 and a half years since I've gotten a massage from here. Yesterday was my worst experience! I saw a sign that said it's $60 for a 60min massage and decided to go in. The masseuse was the worst... I had to keep telling her that her hands were too hard on me even though right at the start I told her I liked it medium. She had the banket on me most of the time during the massage. I think it was the last 20mins she took off blanket and just rubbed oil on my back. She concentrated mostly on my right side maybe it was more comfortable for her or maybe my right side was more tense, I don't know. Also, she used her elbows a lot which is why I felt the need to tell her she's hard on me. Lastly, she only massage my right leg and then said finished. When I looked at the time, it has been 1 hour. So then, It was confirmed that working on my right was more comfortable for her. At the time of payment, she demanded that I give her $15 tip! I asked why? I explained that a tip isn't mandatory and it's earned. If a business requires it, then their price is false advertising! I WILL NEVER RETURN. I don't recommend this business. Be Ware of false advertising and Demanding Tips!
Rather than insisting on a mandatory 30% tip, it would be better for this business to simply raise its prices. I enjoy going to Chinese bodywork parlors in the city and I usually tip as well as I can, at least 20%. However, I have never had someone demand a 30% tip and attempt to intimidate me at the register. Tipping culture in the United States is optional, you should be grateful for a 20% tip or anything at all and you absolutely should never demand tip from someone. It is very offensive. I am never going back to this place. Something seems shady about the way they are running the business. Every time they demand tip they add another one star rating to themselves on Yelp. Seems like a bad business strategy to me.
