First time trying Indian food! We wanted to eat the buffet but didn't realize it was only lunch but I'm glad we still stayed and the owner helped us order! I'm blissfully full and happy! Food and atmosphere was GREAT!
Happy with my meal, other dishes I tried, and service. I thought everything was good even though I do not have anything else to compare it to. I had the Kadai Chicken and Malai Kulfi for dessert. I did try the Gulab Jamun as well. I really recommend that if you must choose between a dessert. Tiktok: @chasaeats Insta: @chasafulkerson
The buffet was not what I normally get at Indian restaurants as I travel. Did not have as many options. Maybe it was just a bad day but the flavors weren't very rich. Food was very 'runny'. Great service but the food was not what I was led to believe from other reviews & Indian is one of my favorite foods. Disappointed.
The buffet is set in a hallway that needs some deep cleaning, better lighting, and a lot more airflow. The signs that provide the name and brief descriptions of the dishes could use some icons to denote jain, vegetarian and vegan dishes as well as the use of Gluten and, nuts. I sampled most vegetarian dishes and was .. underwhelmed. The only sauce that was as thick as I like sauce was Saag Paneer that was very acidic, quite spicy and didn't have paneer. The Chana Dal had almost no split chickpeas and was more of a broth. I had to fish around in the Korma to find vegetables. What I believed to be Pakora were potatoes lightly "breaded" that begged the question if the cook had used the oil for frying chicken before. The Egg pilaf had no egg and instead of fragrant spices and a nutty Ghee aroma tasted more like fried rice. The onion chutney was too fresh and tasted like raw onion, missing all the deeper flavors, I already forgot the other dishes that I sampled. Maybe you have better luck ordering a la carte but they need to rethink their cost model and reduce the buffet or increase their price to provide the deliciousness I am always hoping for. Still 3 stars because even mediocre Indian food offers plenty of lacto-vegetarian options and flavor. Vegetarian options: Lacto vegetarians have a good selection but it's not always clear which dishes contain dairy products ghee, paneer, cream, milk.
The owners were very nice and kind. They allowed us to sit outside on the patio area with a little dog, as we were traveling and couldn't leave her in the car. The food was good. The butter chicken was a little spicy for my kids but they added some yogurt sauce to help with the spice. We were glad to stop for a nice meal and would recommend them.
Best hospitality you can find in Birmingham. We had been driving all weekend long. Had a very bad experience at another restaurant and landed at Taj India. The owners daughter served us, made sure to check on us a few times throughout the meal. The food was warm and served without any delay. Not too spicy and not too pricy. Highly recommended if you are looking for great customer services and good food. Parking: Plenty of parking spaces.
This was my first time eating here and the butter chicken was amazing. I ordered take out, but do plan on dining in soon!Food: 5/5
Staff we're courteous and very eager to assist, even in a crowded party during a busy night we we're still served in a timely manner, the food was nothing short of delicious. The menu was as varied as it was comprehensive. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to grab quality cuisine. Vegetarian options: A multitude of vegetarian options Parking: Somewhat tight but not unmanageable.
The owner was absolutely rude! We moved in to have lunch, but right after we went inside he told us that the "cheap" lunch was buffet, so we should take that without showing us menu. It seemed a bit racist to me; maybe he told that because we looked Asian despite himself being an Indian. Here comes the peak of rudeness, we went to take the food and thought the sitting area in the back was better, so we went to sit there. And, after seeing us there, he was like, "What is wrong with you guys? I told you to sit there. Which country are you from?" Why does a customer's country matter to him? He ruined our lunch and our day. If you don't have professionalism, don't run a restaurant. That bald guy seemed racist to me and unprofessional. Vegetarian options: Less options
Always good food. Menu changes daily for the buffet.
