Had a nice visit with my wife at Woodbury Commons Mall in NY. Fabio and Judy was “straight up” awesome with the beer garden set up there. They were informative and gave us Bottle coolers and openers. The Threes Brewery Vliet was quite tasty and great with our take out meal. Try to stop by for a shopping break and nice company.
Amazingly friendly staff. I primarily stop here to grab a quick on the way home. I must say the daily rotation of beer on tap is always a pleasant surprise. They offer plenty of gluten free options in the beer department. Wine selection is excellent. If you like liquor is also an option. There is a wide variety of snacks as well as baked goods. If you find yourself passing by in the morning make sure to grab a coffee and one of their delicious morning Glory muffins for a great start to the day. The staff will remember your order and have it started for you when they see you everything the store.
My family and I had an uncomfortable experience here. While my parents tried to carry me to the bathroom I have a medical illness so I need assistance to move, an employee literally yelled at us. She screamed that we weren’t allowed to use their restrooms and that we had to go outside. We understood that the protocol may be different due to covid but the screaming while I was clearly having a medical issue which we also told her about was just a bit much. She could have just put up a sign with that information, told us with respect in a calm voice, or even offered to assist us in showing us the way. We tried to move out of her way as she was so quickly agitated. However, it was difficult with the medical issue I have. She eventually moved out the way so we could go out side to the trailer bathrooms but this was just a very uncomfortable experience. We still bought the items we sought out to buy at this store, but this experience turned me off. I’d like to not return here.
Great selection of local beer, wine and snacks - I appreciate being able to grab a to go beer or glass of wine on my way to the train!
The positive - love the selection. The negative - the pricing is truly offensive, even in the context of Grand Central. Hill Rock whiskey for $170, average price is 90-100. $11 for a can of Finback been, normal 4 pack is $18. I could go on. I'd also add the staff could back off the sales pressure a bit. It's really a shame, since the opportunity to buy local goods in Grand Central is appealing and has drawn me in to the store more than once - but without fail, I always leave empty handed.
A great selection of everything. The morning crew are polite and courteous. It's when the afternoon comes around the older gentlemen/possible owner starts working. He's extremely rude to customers all day everyday and is the reason I dont stop in there going home.**** Dont even try the cold beer on tap. More like room temperature beer
Agree with the many others feedback regarding rude and dismissive staff. People working behind the counter / cashier are curt and very abrupt. Some days they add sales tax to the wines, other times they don’t. And, just this evening I went to buy a bottle of Cabernet and the marked price on the shelf was $30, but when the cashier scanned it, it came up as $35. I called out the discrepancy and was rudely told “that’s what’s being scanned, it’s $35, do you want the bottle or not!” I mean $1.00 difference, ok, but $5.00?!? I said in further response, “you should give the price marked, not what your computer states, it’s not my issue YOU mis-marked it!!! Honestly, they could care less about customer service. They have a captive audience which puts up with this poor customer service and it’s from the top, down. It’s unfortunate that they don’t correct this. I’m planning on contacting the BBB to report these practices, because they haven’t won a stitch of loyalty from me.
Both employees were less then inviting. Huge turn off - wanted to buy a bottle of red wine. It use to be a nice place to buy a glass a wine! Too bad!
Ridiculously greedy alcohol pricing. Won't sell beer for the actual 4 or 6-pack pricing. Instead, you have to buy 4 or 6 individually priced beers. I just today went in to buy a 4-pack from Ommegang and it rang up $36...for 4 beers that aren't even a full 12-oz because Ommegang. Last time I set foot in TasteNY.
I love the champagne cheese and One Woman Gruner wine. I stop to pick up a bottle for the weekend or glass before heading home. Good selection, speedy service.
