Teacher's Tools

One star, because zero stars isn't an option. I struggled through rush-hour traffic on a Friday afternoon to get to this location for one item my wife needed for her classroom. I arrived one minute before 6:00pm (the time they close). I see customers leaving the store and more customers inside, as I jump out of the car. I am met at the door by an employee. She says nothing - only looks at me while sticking her head out of the partially open door. I ask if I can come in. She says, "no, we're closed." If you're a teenager who can't wait for the weekend to start, or a parent who can't wait to clock out and pick up your child from school, or a college student who needs to start cramming for a 50%-of-your-final-grade exam the following morning, or a close friend/family member of an I'll individual that needs you at their bedside, I can be understanding. BUT, this location didn't seem to be understaffed and there seemed to be no sense of urgency in the air as I witnessed the employee playfully chatting with another employee by the door, as I approached. And being that there were other customers in the store, I wasn't asking to keep anyone late with the one item I had planned to purchase. I will simply not share my income or my time with any business that doesn't wish me to be there. I'm certain this will result in a negligible revenue loss for Teacher's Tools. Sharing my experience may simply help other educators decide where to go, or not go, for their supplies, if they find themselves in a similar situation.
