Teachers Village is for Newark! We develop new housing, schools and retail space on formerly vacant parking lots in downtown Newark, near mass transit, the courts, universities and public amenities. The Teachers Village project brings 1,000 students and families every day to an area of downtown that was formerly underutilized and with few amenities.
The design, led by Newark-born architect Richard Meier, brings together three charter schools, a daycare center, 205 residential units (pre-marketed to Newark's teachers); and an exciting array of retail establishments. This historic project has been years in the making; a true partnership of the City of Newark, the State of New Jersey, local and national financial institutions; and entrepreneurs.
