My son was an admitted 302 to the fifth floor of this hospital. I have to say the doctor caring for him was very helpful in relaying updates about his care. The visitation schedulers are not so helpful considering they hardly answer the phone and take a while to get back. When I finally scheduled a visit, the visit was seamless. I know Joshua from another facility. He was the tech that greeted me and supervised the visit. He made me calm about my son’s hospital admittance and answered my questions throughly. The nurse Christine and the secretary during the day were very nice when I called the unit to tell my son to call me.
I wanted to make this review for long time. I was a patient at this Hospital during year 2013 to 2016. During this time my appointment were with Assistant Doctors most of the time. I had 2 or 3 appointments with a Doctor that was good and caring but unfortunatly she left the practice. I was follow up primarily for high blood pressure. I have knowledge of lab test and I did not feel comfortable when the GRF was low, I was dehydrated in spite that I was drinking a lot of water , I have swelling in my legs, I never feel well and in one MRI that I had they found a cysts in my kidney. I discuss my concern with the Assistant Doctor and I asked her that I wanted a referral to a Kidney specialist but she refused to gave me the referral because she did not think my symptoms were related to kidney problems. She also said a cyst was nothing to be concern. But now I have cysts in both kidneys more than one. I decided to find another doctor who listen to me. The new doctor that I saw told me that with the family history that I have and with the lab results she did not have a problem to refer me to a kidney specialist. After all the tests they found that I have Chronic kidney disease III. My uric acid was high, my phosphoro was high, I have albumin in my urine and other values were off. It never occur to them to check my urine, they just continue refilling my BP medicine. I have been in treatment at Jefferson with Dr. Garry R. Sirken ever since I left Episcopal.. Thanks to my knwledge I was able to advocate for myself but while I was going to Episcopal I spoke to patients that told me that they did not feel well but medical personel were not listening to them and they felt not improvement in their contidion and this is the reason. If I stay at Episcopal I will be in dyalisis right now. It is wrong for hospitals to have assistant doctors or nurse practitioners taking care for patients 100% of the time just so they can save money. I hope someone at Episcopal see this and use this to improve their patient care. I also advice patients to avoid this hospital if they can unless they start having good Doctors in the staff.
The doctors and nurses here will take the word of the police over all evidence and testimony. They helped lock me up here under false pretenses. I have not been able to sleep since. There is so much pain and lose from their misconduct I am not strong enough to list them. I hope the money they made off me is worth it.
The doctors in OB touch your body and do exams without telling you what they are doing. I asked her to explain what she was doing which she replied, “haven’t you been to an OB before?!” Left me in tears. Will never be back.
Not much of an experience, but my father went to the ER and I was able to call and get the doctor on the phone to give me information about him. That is important!
The waiting room is a bit sketchy, which is to be expected considering the location. The doctors and nurses however are very good. They must deal with a lot, but for ER purposes they are very professional and empathetic.
Sitting in the hallway with chest pain! Do not come here, you will die before you are seen!
Hospital definitely needs new staff. It's completely luck of the draw. My boyfriend came in on the first day and his care was excellent. ER nurses were attentive and he was admitted easily. The second day was TERRIBLE. I went to see him and there was "no record" of him on the floor. I got lucky that a nurse coming in for her shift checked for me. He also got no food or ice from 7am until he was discharged at 4pm. His nurse, Tiffany, asked why he never rang the nurse's bell, but he called her 3 times and no one responded. I understand why security is strict, but patient care needs A LOT OF WORK.
f I had the option of zero stars I would give them. I brought to the walk in crisis centre after experiencing depression, severe anxiety and panic attacks. I made it very clear that I no current plan to harm myself or anyone else. I came there to talk and possibly e connected with an outpatient provider who can prescribe medications for my depression and anxiety. I suffer from an eating disorder as well. The doctor I spoke with at the crisis centre basically duped me into signing a 201 voluntary admission. I told him that was not what I wanted and that I wanted to go home. He said it wouldn't be that simple and it would take time for them to discharge me and that they could still obtain a 302 involuntary admission if they wanted. So I signed the 201 knowing I could sign a 72 hour notice to have myself discharged in the next 3 days. My experience on the unit was awful. There was onenurse who was extremely rude, unprofessional and condescending. Then there was a tech who was extremely rude.. I do not recommend this place if you are seeking mental health care, they will cause you more pain and trauma.
The doctor in the cardiology department is extremely rude and mean. Yelling at me and my grandma for not knowing why the primary doctor referred my grandma to a cardiologist. The doctor was already annoyed for some reason even from the very beginning and took it on us. It is a very disgusting behavior and it triggered my anxiety. I would’ve give it a zero star if I could.
