Thai Thani

Very disappointing. The restaurant was empty, and it still took us 20 minutes to be seated. After that, we sat at the table for another 20 minutes and were never greeted by a server. My husband had to get up and walk to the bar to ask if we were going to get service. The person behind the bar who claimed to be the manager said that they were short staffed, and they were doing all they could. Interestingly enough, the table next to us, who were sat after we were, already had their drinks. We decided to be patient, especially since the Thai Thani on International drive is our favorite restaurant, but we left highly disappointed. The calamari was swimming in grease, and the papaya salad had no sauce. My shrimp dish arrived without shrimp, and instead of making me a new dish, the server just asked the kitchen for some shrimp, and by the time she brought it to the table, the rest of my dish was cold. The ONLY thing that was good was their house sangria, so if you want to get a nice drink, go there. But if you're looking for good Thai food, make the driver to their other restaurant, where the food is always fresh and delicious.

I'm being generous with 3 stars because it may be that the day we were there was not typical. First, couldn't help notice that at dinner time around 6, customers were at other restaurants including outside but this restaurant was not busy at all. Second, it was obvious that one girl was being trained by another. Now I'd say that the ambiance in terms of decorations on wall and the manner that waitresses were dressed looked pretty high class .... but Celebration is a pretty classy area, so that fits in. The ambiance is reflected in the prices for the front few pages of the menu where there is a normal price at around $24 for main dishes. Later on you find the norm setting into a norm around $12-$14. Service, once you order is slower that expected. I guess you are expected to have drinks before your meal but the wait is excessive for a restaurant that is not doing much business. Now for the really problematic part, accuracy of the order. My wife ordered a pork dish from the menu and was given a chicken dish. That was probably tied to the learning curve but it makes me downgrade my review. Second, my dish was about the same price but there was twice the amount of food on my plate. Although it was not the wrong dish, it was not what I expected. The peanut sauce was quite thick, too thick, and not the taste that I am used to from a good Thai restaurant. All in all there are a lot of restaurants in the area and it looks like the locals have decided that this one is not a winner. A shame. By the way, at some price level i expect table cloths and the prices on the menu called for proper setting not just a bare table even if it is a fancy marble type.

Really terrible service waited at host stand for over 10 minutes no hostess until this lady walked in from the street and asked us if we are being cater too I told her we was not and she sat us down. Turn out ahe was a hostess. food took over 25 minutes to be served, I sat and saw tables with dirty plates after guest was gone left there for a while . . High price simple tasting food. Never again only went there due to my wife. This place is really good for terrible service, had to get up to ask to paid my bill, people eating in this place with 5 star probably never enjoy real thai food. Please be warn of you looking for good food and good service you are definitely not going to find it here.

Although I live in Celebration I rarely eat here. I was glad I returned. My meal was delicious. The restaurant is authentic and I left craving the flavors so I returned one week later and enjoyed another delicious meal! Service is a little slow, so if you are in a rush let them know. The restaurant is never busy!

Love the Thailand ambiance here. It feels like you are visiting Thailand and getting authentic food while you're here. Thai restaurants don't give enough rice to go with the dishes that you order. The food was pretty good. This was our second visit, so that says a lot about the food.
