I run a Men's Group, Dudes of Disruption, who is committed to transformation and we have been renting space from The Actors Theatre Workshop for over 2 years. There are three difference spaces at their location that we have used during this period - all the spaces have provided exactly what we need - a quiet, safe and professional space where we can do the work we are committed to doing.
We can set up and configure the spaces anyway we choose to fit our needs - the staff is very flexible and responsive to how we want the spaces set up for our sessions.
The staff (Whitney, Jay, etc..) are professional, supportive and kind. They add to the awesome experience we have received. Thank you! Highly recommend and will continue to use the space.

The Theater, space, and staff are absolutely pleasant. The space is ideal for any creative structure needed. I've been at plays and also attended the open mic here where you meet some pretty amazing people. This place is more than just a business and I love it.

I am the Director of a new mobile dance company for girls and we were looking for a space to host our NYC auditions. I came across ATW and was immediately interested because of their proximity to NY Penn Station. I commute in from NJ and my girls come from Brooklyn, Yonkers, the Bronx and Queens - so the location is ideal for everyone!
The staff is simply amazing and accommodating and our first day couldn’t have gone smoother, so much so, that we are hoping to use ATW long term, and couldn't think of a better place to call home.
They have some great programs there in addition to being generous enough to let organizations like mine use their space. I highly recommend them and look forward to growing the SoulDeevas there!!

I had a great experience as a volunteer here to help with their Builders of The New World program. I think the program is great and the best part is that it is designed to empower and strengthen homeless youth. Thurman Scott, the founder and Artistic Director, is passionate and innovative when it comes to the children. The people and the motives of this non profit organization is sincere and inspiring.

I'm extremely glad that I was able to audit here before spending close to $2000 on classes for one semester. After the first audit class where it was stressed that we're in a safe environment, I was asked to talk about my journey. I was honest and felt good and was looking forward to seeing what else the school had to offer. Unfortunately the environment wasn't as safe as I thought and was asked to not come back because I was too honest?!?! I was explaining my journey. I didn't reference anyone or anything that concerned anyone else so I'm not too sure why people were offended. Its a place that first caters to people with emotional issues. Not all acting schools are for everyone. I just encourage those to audit first before committing yourself to a program here.
