Highly recommend! I was given multiple tours by Joslyn and Sabine with much patience and understanding for my questions and concerns. Sabine didn't hesitate to accommodate my requests to look at several units to compare I went back twice. All the phone calls I made in a single day left me with no unanswered questions sorry about so many by the way haha. I felt extremely well taken care of and that I would ultimately make the very best choice. I can't wait to move in now!
Stayed here for 4 months as part of relocation and couldn’t have been happier. Joslyn in the leasing office is the embodiment of going above and beyond for her residents. When we had to push back our planned move unexpectedly, Joslyn made sure we had ample storage and minimal disruption. The community itself is wonderful in this building - we made friends with several other residents. Thank you!
Do not live here. The management company does not have your best interest at heart, all they care about is money. We had a horrible move out experience - they screwed up our move out date and when we tried to push back they said that the manager who told us she would change our move-out date wasn't authorized to do so, and we would be charged thousands extra if we stayed past the date they had on file. They would not even allow us to pay a pro-rated amount to stay the extra 10-ish days. The real punch to the face was about 2-3 weeks after we moved out we received an email from The Amelia letting us know we had a remaining balance of about $84 for our sewer bill which was posted after we had vacated the apartment, no big deal right? The email said we had 30 days to forward them the payment. We attempted to pay through our online portal the same day but since we had already moved out our access was denied. Not even 5 days later we receive a threatening email from a debt collector letting us know our $84 sewer bill had been sent to collections. The Amelia said they send any remaining balances straight to collections after you move out - would've been great to know that beforehand! I can't wait for their response to this review to reach out so we can "make this right", like we haven't been "reaching out" for months with them refusing to work with us on any of these issues. Live literally anywhere else. There are like 10 other luxury complexes within a mile radius - save yourselves the headache and sub-par amenities.
I moved to the Amelia in A year ago. so far our experience was fair to good! On July this year the management changed to company called Watertown . At that time my laundry machine was producing loud noises and I asked them to come check it out! It took them few days to a week to come over to check and then they decided to get us a new washer and dryer. they Installed the unit and left without testing it. I came from work and the unit was not working at all. I called few times so they can come and check it. they came and get it to work this happened after few calls and in person requests When they said it is now fixed, I started a laundry load. the Machine started working then stopped without rinsing, spinning or drying! I went in person few times, called many times and it has been now almost two months without a washer in unit! they always promise to call back or come over but nothing has changed!! pictures show how water is not drained and all the wall damage done by their maintenance staff!! the wooden door has also been removed and is never put back!! I have been calling to get in touch with a higher manager than the one in the building because they clearly don’t know what they are doing and how to handle tenants problems. They refused to get me in touch with higher ranked manager or promised to call back with solutions- which they never did! I was recommending the building to all my friends but I am telling everyone now to stay AWAY!
I went there to drop off a food order, could not find a number on the building, so I was very confused on where I needed to go. The lobby that I ended up in seemed very unorganized, there was packages piled up and poor lighting. I saw some worker pulling a trash barrel so I asked him if this was the address because I asked him what the number was, I won't say it here in case it's not allowed, but he said it was, so I asked him where do I go to look for an apartment number and he actually let me in, I showed him proof on who I was and why I was there. I got lost trying to find the customer. So I had to call him. I got lost when I reached the floor that I needed to go to, the numbers of the apartments are really weird. There's no sign or anything telling you which way to go to look for apartments. I got lost leaving the building as well I ended up coming out a different entrance then I came in.
We love living in Amelia Apartment. The location is great and amenities are well maintained. Views are great in the apartment with large windows. They are very responsive to maintainance requests. The management team is very helpful too, especially Joslyn. Highly recommend this building!
Wonderful apartment building. Our guide, Joslyn, was great and helped us feel right at home when touring!
Me and my wife recently moved into the Amelia, and the process was super smooth! "Joslyn" was really helpful and kind! She made the moving-in process super easy and comfortable for us, and she is always responding to our concerns and even staying overtime or during weekends to help everyone in the building. Also, the management team and the maintenance team are very professional and helpful, they responded to our maintenance requests in a short time and "Frank" did all his best to fix the issues we had. I think we will enjoy our stay here. Thank you so much for being amazingly nice!
The Amelia is located in Quincy Center, not far from T stop of the same name, making it a commuter’s paradise. Andrea was welcoming, throughout my stay she was the only one I could rely on for assistance, even if with considerable delays. However as time went on the inconveniences increased making my stay a less than pleasant experience. The apartment: the only positive aspect was the new carpet. The wood floor was old, near the window was being eaten away by humidity. The appliances were not updated but usable, theoretically. The oven was disgusting, there was a tremendous amount of grease, I had to look for solutions online, applied them overnight with little avail. The cabinets had animal hairs in them. The washer/dryer was old and the dryer portion did not work. Later on the kitchen sink started leaking and the portion underneath showed mildew growth. The bathroom was developing mildew as well. The utilities, with the exception of electricity, were included, but the water was constantly being cut off. Whenever I worked from home I had serious issues dealing with no water for the entire day. Overall, the apartment had serious plumbing issues the shower head was always leaking. The garage: it is located in a public location, a potential security risk. With this in mind, the price is too high. Other establishments ask even 95$ for a private garage. The community: other residents are extremely rude. Management and Maintenance: absolutely disappointing. Megan is very unhelpful and condescending. She called me once at work and hung up on me during the conversation. The maintenance people are rude as well. My dryer was not working, they told me to put less items in it when there was only one sheet. In general I felt you couldn’t really rely on management for anything, not the point of a managed property. Security: it is a serious issue. Residents would receive emails about homeless people breaking in. The area around the property is not the best which is worsened by the lack of any security measures on the side of the property. Overall I do not recommend the Amelia. They are asking more than what the apartments are worth. There are plenty of better options in the Quincy area.
Edit: not the best place to live, not the worst either. The best thing is the maintenance team. They are so kind and efficient. The new management does not care about residents. The windows are drafty so your apartment feels like it does outside- so freezing winter, hot summer.
