It’s unfortunate to give this place 1 star because the food is great and the employees are very nice, but they get your order wrong almost every time. We’ve been coming here pretty often for over 2 years still trying to give them a chance because we love their bagels, but more times than not our orders are wrong. I’d say around 80% of the time our orders are wrong. They just won’t write anything down, it’s ridiculous. I ordered a whole wheat everything bagel and went back to the store after I saw it was wrong, and they straight up tried to convince me this was whole wheat. It’s not, clearly it’s regular per the picture. They insisted it was whole wheat but just a “lighter color today”. What??? Insanity. We pay for add ons to breakfast sandwiches like avocado and it’s missing. Waste of money and extremely frustrating because it’s been consistently happening for years. Updating this review because we just ordered bacon egg and cheeses and they forgot the bacon, didn’t melt the cheese and absolutely drowned it in hot sauce. It is inedible. Like so many of their egg sandwiches because they make them horribly and/or always forget your order - it’s inedible there. Such a waste of money because it’s expensive. Never going back there.
Clear winner between the 3 bagel spots clustered together on 7th ave for best quality bagels. Whereas their nearby competitors have denser and harder-to-chew bagels, Bagel Market has much fluffier, chewier, and generally tastier bagels. Service has always been great and the wait is quite reasonable. As someone who lives in Park Slope, this is my go-to spot.
One of the workers cusssd me out in Spanish. If you are going to cus someone out in soanish make sure they can’t understand what you are saying. They don’t make their own begals. They are basically an assembly line. I give customer service a zero. They received a one above for the fact that I received my food.Food: 4/5
The bagels are solid, the service is quick, and the prices are fair. But the cream cheese is a little runny and the bagels are only pretty good.
This is my regular bagel place and they just have solid, tasty New York bagels. A dozen Bagels is offered at a good price, and you even get two free bagels thrown in. I also like the bagel sandwiches. Good drink and snack selection. Be sure to come at non-peak breakfast and lunch hours however, as it can get quite busy.
4/5: bagel. I had a plain bagel and while small it’s deliciously fluffy and soft. Wouldn’t say it’s a traditional nyc bagel as the outside isn’t super firm but it’s a great combination of fluff and dough 1/5: cream cheese. Hate to say it but the cream cheese just wasn’t good. Had scallion and lox spread and the taste was just completely off. And the scallions were.. a hot mess. Definitely go and try their bagels but either take them to go and get your cream cheese elsewhere or get a breakfast sandwich my friend had a whole wheat turkey egg cheese which was on point.
The California bagel is what I go there for. It is the best bagel I've eaten to date! The place is clean. The service is not that good. I think you have to be a familiar face to be helped in a timely, decent and friendly manner. They can do large orders with at least a day in advance notice.
A regular stop over after being in the park with my dog - order a bagel and coffee, and tip the counter workers . Today, with my hands full of flowers to plant from the Framers Market, could only order/ carry a bagel, when I attempted to pay with my debit, since it was under $5.00, the counter worker said I couldn’t pay for the bagel that way - and then stared me down as if I had committed a crime of some sorts. Left without my bagel, feeling violated. They obviously only cater towards their seamless/grub hub/Yelp clientele. Bring your business to Bagel World on fifth, better bagels/w counter- workers who see you as a person.
We got our staff breakfast from The Bagel Market and it was the BEST ever. Chris, took great care of us. The Bagel Market will be the place that DT staff will have breakfast going forward. Delicious
Chaotic service for not being busy, but my bagel was superior in every way. I couldn't name a bagel in Brooklyn that would be superior to The Bagel Market. Also note, their coffee was on the strong side think Charbucks. You might want an extra cream and/or sugar in it.
